I don't agree with this one. History is just about insight in our past.

Marilyn Monroe, alongside Jennifer Aniston and a few others, must be about the most overhyped woman in the history of the World.

Prob because she was being boned by the most overhyped politician in the history of the World.

I just couldn't get interested in someone who was usually fat, spoke like Michael Jackson, and had a haircut like my grandma... wtf

That haircut was very normal back then, and she certainly wasn't fat.
I'm not a fan of her, but yeah, that's not fat at all....? Healthy weight.

I heard she had a bit of a stutter and and a speach impedement. She sounds a little deaf here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ON3v6d8lus"]Marilyn Monroe - Early Screen Test - YouTube

Maybe because it's atleast a 51 year old haircut, and your gran was a young lass 51 years ago. A lot of older ladies hark back to their prime when they are older.

    1. Someone who was usually fat. True, she was rather plump in Some like it Hot. She was also quite pregnant during filming. In fact, she ultimately lost the baby. I thought she looked great in most of her films.

    2. The voice was an act. It was part of the MM persona. Something Hollywood loved (made them tons of money), and something she was fighting to overcome.

    3. Haircut. Again, she was groomed by Hollywood. And she detested it. That's why she was fired from her last (unfinished) film: she wanted to act in more serious roles (not just the dumb blonde role Hollywood wanted her to forever play), and their response was to label her difficult - and rip up her contract.

P.S. MY Week with Marilyn (an excellent bio pic) was released a year or two ago, and it really is quite revealing. Marilyn Monroe (the persona) created a sensation in public while filming The Prince and the Showgirl (terrible film) in England. However, when she was not "being" Marilyn - she was smart, witty, and more down to earth than most Hollywood stars from that era. In truth, she never really was given the chance to prove herself as an actress. But I give her credit for trying...
