Possible Updates to Bare It!

I think going topless is related to nudism, in even a miniscule way. Not to mention, there's not such a large amount of topless threads, not like with barefooting.

 

Bottom line, without getting too technical, is "nude" means "no clothes", and "barefoot" means "no shoes". Nudists are going naked, but shoes are worn a lot of times. Barefooters are going barefoot, but clothes are worn most times. Nudists don't focus on shoes, and barefooters don't focus on clothes. "Nough said.

I think separating these two, popular (natural...but very different) activities is a logical and long, overdue move.

I think this is a great idea, it keeps the forums a little bit more orginized.

 

There are some people who go topless who wouldnt even dream of going naked. Thats more of a civil rights issue as women want the same rights as men do. It was just a suggestion. It could always be a shirtless/topless forum for both men and women since there are alot of men out there who like to go without shirts as much as they like to go barefoot. I just think things would be more organized that way and people can go where theres people talking about specifically what they want to talk about.

 

Well, I think it would be a fantabulous Idea to make a Barefoot Sub-Forum. That'd basically kick ass. And since no one nominated me to be a moderator... Let me be the first to nominate myself. I have plenty of forum mod/admin experience, and Since I am all about "Barefoot" I'd like to do it.

Anyone gonna support a brotha?

 

I can see where you're coming from, but there are a lot more people who do see bare breasts as nudity. Why else would it be a civil rights issue? Going topless is seen as improper behavior, indecent exposure, and just downright sinful in the eyes of many a conservative mind. In the moral and legal senses, I don't think it's a far cry from nudism/naturism.

This does make for a great topic, and I guess I can see the relevance to this thread, but I'm curious who else is you all feel comfy with as moderators here. We've had a few nominations. What do you guys think?

I'll admit that it's been a while since I've been in here and I haven't posted as frequently as others. You have a valid point and I can understand your concern. It's something to think about. However, I have been in these forums for a few years now and think that I can do the job without too much issue. Either way, you'll be seeing more of me around this forum.

So, who would you choose as a mod? nudistmike? he seems a decent person for the job as well. Or Tarabelle. I think she'd be a good mod for this forum.

And to be honest, I chose the nudism portion of bare it because I was pushing for hippyfreek for the barefooters forum.

What's all this about nudists who don't go barefoot? Rather defeats the object if you're wearing shoes doesn't it?

For me goes the same. But it seems beyond the point: nudists wearing shoes is not because it's sensual, and they probably will be the first to admit that it is not being *totally* nude. They are shod because of practical reasons, as someone explained earlier. But for me, it's unthinkable to be nude and wearing shoes. I'm a naturist AND a barefooter.

 

Practical reasons? Are you saying that not wearing shoes is less practical than not wearing anything else?

Its not nudity because no genitals are exposed. Most laws ive seen have said that being topfree is not nude. The only reason people think being topfree is nude is because of the popular culture which does not distinguish the two and it likes the sexualization of breasts and doesnt care who it affects to keep that status for breasts.

Because men can do it and women cant. Nudity is the same for everybody, noone is being discriminated against.

Thats because those people are not educated about real life and exist in their little fantasy world and think that everything should go the way they set it and they think everybody thinks and feels like they do or should. Its pretty sad that they can legitimize women being discriminated against just because some book or some supreme being says its ok to do that and that breasts are evil.

Actually I beleive alot of laws are beginning to see the difference and distinguish the difference between the two. Thats why going topfree is legal or at least tolerated in alot more place than it has been in the past.

 

I think nudists wear shoes because while they enjoy being nude they beleive that clothes should be worn when its practical to do so and many of them feel like they need some protection for their feet. They might also just do this as practice or force of habit. I would feel pretty weird being nude and wearing shoes.

 

I think the choice of moderator should be a combo of who the people here like the most and who has the skills to do the job. I think since most people who got nominated in this thread would probably be good with the moderating part I beleive that the choice should have more to do with who the people here like and get along with the most. So that whoever becomes the moderator has a good relationship with everybody and vice-versa so its easy to get along with them and pass along suggestions and any problems when they come up. I think almost anyone here would be a good moderator its just up to whoever makes the final decision to chose them I guess. Anyways thats just my take on the whole thing.
