Positive reactions to your dreads?

Most people don't approach me because I look fairly intimidatng so there is no chance for compliments

 

I was walking back to the train station from doing my "Responsible Services of Alcohol" (RSA) cert, I passed by the way. As i got to the platform the teller walked out and sparked up a joint and decided it was appropriate to talk to me about his weed addiction.

I was amused, he was high...but it was an hour wait for the dam train. 45 min of listening to this guy babel on about how he "use to" be a junkie (seemed like he still was to me) was truly painful. I went to go to my platform, as i was walking away he yelled out "Nice dreads by the way"! I turned around, smiled and then walked away.

I seem to attract more ppl asking for drugs and crap than I do anything else, Come to think of it, its the only thing I hate about having dreads and i know its not the dreads fault. *mumbles about society*

I have been smoking herb for 14 years off and on....
I have stopped at various times in my life at will... I have been content each time, and I think that when people say they are addicted its a cop-out...

Allthough I have been smoking this stretch nonstop for the last 5 years, because im at a point in my life that i can....But I guarantee that if the situation presents itself, i could quit, but i really would not want to....lol..:sifone:

 

it's a mental addiction definitely. the only withdrawls i get are being a total bitch instead of an almost-bitch.

 

people can totally be addicted to weed.
my roommate feels sick when he doesn't smoke it, can't really sleep well without being STONED and it takes so much to get him like that, and he's super moody when there's none in the house. It's kind of sad.

most of my good reactions come from other dreadheads or people who used to have dreads. once a customer waiting in line was 'whispering' to his wife about me. he was like "look at that hair." she said "oh but she looks so cute and nice!" and he was all "yeah, but I wouldn't want to fuck with her." When they got to the till I was all rainbows and sunshine. I find this rather hilarious because I'm all of 5"4' and have never beat up anybody lol

personally i don't understand why you think that people cant be addicted to weed just cause you aren't but hey...good for you.

I had my first kind encounter yesterday. (I'm a big nerd and it really made my day!!) Some lady asked me how long i had them and told me she had recently cut hers off. I think I need to hang out near the Yoga studio in town a bit more often. lol

 

i get mostly positive comments about my dreadlocks, and get told that dreads definitly suit me, and that "they look alot better then that other guys" lol, however theres always the closed minded few who think im dirty and need to "scrub my hair", which to me is hilarious considering that i keep my hair cleaner then most of the people i know

 

yesterday both a co worker and a 9 yr old said i have pretty hair!

and fuck all that 'addicted to weed' shit. its all in your head and if you are a weak person, you can make yourself believe you are addicted to weed. just like coffee, chocolate, or sex.

I'm not addicted, but I know if I stopped smoking cannabis, my quality of life would decline. I use marajuana to treat my insomnia, migraines, IBS, sciatic nerve and PMS. Without it, I would be in constant pain and/or discomfort.

i wouldn't want to quit for any reason. i smoke way too much. like between 2-3 oz a week between me, my gf, and our roommate.

anone hear about the global marijuana march this weekend? check your city, im marching on the texas capitol tomorrow in support of two bills (hb164 and hb902) that will allow medical use and reduce the sentencing of less than two oz to only a fine and no jail time. check it out.
