Just because men, by nature, are biologically dominate, does not mean they should ACT dominate. Men and women should be equally treated and women should NEVER have to think of their men as being their "masters"...that's absolutely absurd.

 

Agree, because men are not pure animals, they have the ability to control their instincts unlike other animals, actions, and thoughts. But, like someone said in another thread being an animal is lot easier than being a thinker.

You are lucky you live in country that supports your view, but for many women in this world being subordinated to their husbands is their only reality.

actually my argument says that what you think is very different form what the reality really might be, and the example I used was you building on the fact that you get turned on by submissive women and applying that to all men and the opposite role to all women, when the reality might be entirely different. If you think me saying that is offensive to you, I am sorry I do not see it that way.

What's interesting about this is how diseased people's thoughts become when anything turns into politics. My statements had nothing to do with politics, but were merely observations about human nature.

By the way, I have never had any drug addicts in my family, nor was I ever in an abusive relationship (with me or another person being abused). Is this what your religion or spiritual outlook teaches you, to insult people with different views? You can disagree with people, but to name-call is lame.

From what I understand, humans are unique in that they have evolved into doing the missionary position comfortably. Our ancestors did it with the male to the female's backside, like most mammals.

He is not an ignorant ass. He is very intelligent. If you are unable to see his intelligence, it's because he may be more intelligent than you (his IQ may be higher than yours).

If he has done wrong in other threads, that does make it right to do wrong back to him in this thread. Not to mention, there is scientific support for his assertion, which you responded to with a lame insult.

No, I don't think you care. Because if you did care, you would try to be more understanding over what they say. That's how intelligent people tend to behave.

What I saw was that he made an assertion without citing evidence. You could have merely told him he has no evidence. Instead you called him an "ignorant ass."* The worst part is that he appears to be right.

By the way, what do you have to say about the WebMD article?

*Upon reflection, Dancerannie said he pulled his ideas out of his "ignorant ass," but this is a minor distinction.

 

I have done some thinking about this thread, and I won't put myself up as a martyr nor will I moralize against others. But I find it odd that those who have feminist views seem to turn off average people from their movement, despite their diminishing popularity, even among women. Like the Nazis, they carry attitudes that turn mainstream people off, even though they lack power and force in their movement. The great irony is that the more distanced from the mainstream some people are, the more fervent their beliefs and the more vindictive they behave, which is the opposite of what is needed to advance their cause. It also seems to me that some feminists have too much emotional baggage that carries over into these types of discussions, which, I might add, mainstream women are able to see through. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking that mainstream women are frequent posters in threads like these. This is not to say it's either a positive or negative thing.

It seems one of the problems in our modern society is that there is a growing intolerance for different views, even though there is more tolerance than ever before over physical differences. Merely explicitly discussing human differences causes outrage among some groups or in certain forums; but because human differences are so obvious and fundamental, it's impossible for people to unleash this anger at every opportunity. Even someone else who uttered my beliefs but in different words was met with some indifference. This could be because too much energy from 1 or 2 people was already expended on me. It seems unfortunately with the subject of human differences there are outbursts that occur because of pent up frustrations over things in either people's personal lives or in society. Insulting or attacking others isn't likely to do much about these problems.

 

Yes well I apologize, it took me a while there but I saw my other arguments I guess you took it personally when I said you are viewing this as "men are made to dominate and women are made for submission" because of your psychological urges to dominate over women. if you disagree, you should then construct a coherent argument that this is not true. but I will use another example here, in front of you to prove that your idea might not be based on what really is going on at all.
for instance, I may say that by the looks of it, the stars are there to shine at night, they have to shine, because I see them twinkle every night and clouds may cover up these stars when there are alot of them in the sky, therefore I say clouds are made to cover up the sky and stars in the sky exist to shine.

Although this star theory may be true to me from where I stand, thats just because i am viewing them from the earth and not from space beyond the earth, If i see it from space, the stars are balls of gas that are supposedly born in nebulas and whatnot and they shine always , not at night there are no days or nights, and there are no clouds covering up the stars. You see it is very different.

So, similarly, from where you stand, because of your urges that "turn you on" when you dominate women, you believe that women are made to be submissive but the actual fact might be completely different and is probably different. So if you still don't understand this enough to construct a coherent argument then thats okay too, lets end this right here.

Lately I have been studying Buddhism, which has helped me to control myself. Normally I would just burst in this type of situation, letting my emotions get the best of me. I tried toning down my words with DancerAnnie, but that didn't work. Since she thinks it's perfectly fine to insult 16-year-olds over the internet, she seems a few steps behind you (and I don't mean this as a put-down, although it will come off as one to someone with DancerAnnie's ego).

I don't mean to be offensive to you, Jedi, but I feel my points are so obvious that they need not be debated: namely, that men are naturally dominant sexually. I had a very intelligent ex who finally agreed with me about this. So it's not like this is something naturally "insulting" to women. It is, I think, a conclusion some here don't like for ideological or personal reasons. But that doesn't change the reality. I could also advance an evolutionary argument against you, but I don't think it should be required.

I realize that you and others may take this as me not comprehending your posts, or me losing the debate, which is perfectly fine.

 

Like I said, if you want to believe in it so strongly , please go ahead do so.I don't think anyone here has the power to change your perspective, ofcourse, we can debate, argue and confront views, but unless you truly change your mind which seems to be unlikely, I do not think there is anything more to discuss.
