Why is ONLY S&M style porn considered degrading to you?
Lots of stuff that doesn't sell is still filmed....so that blows THAT argument out of the water.
Women are objectified on commercials and on billboards....are you blind or just ignorant?
I'm sure you watch porn and get off on the fact that a girl is at her man's submission....does what he wants. That's the basis of porns appeal.

Thats not necessarily the case, or it isn't in all porn, but women are objectified in today's society.

 

I was just talking about porn in general. 90% of the porn I've watched is definitely in the males domination.

 

After sifting through this thread, the main argument seems to be between those who demand total sexual freedom and those who feel that sex should be restricted into the confines of a loving(with only vanilla/romantic sex) relationship.

I have always held the opinion that what happens between consenting adults is their business. If they want to make movies of themselves having sex, then that is their right. If they want to sell those movies, still their own right.

People have the right to watch porn and people have the right to not watch porn.

If it's not your cup of tea, don't drink it.

The appeal of that porno to those who watch it is BEING degraded/abused, or being the one in power. That is what they get off on. DEGRADATION is inherent in that type of porno.

I doubt that a production company or studio or whatever would be in business if it was filming stuff that didn't sell. You act like porn is just this big conspiracy to hold women down, that people make porns to degrade women for free.

The women get paid, the men get paid, everyone walks away happy. Nobody is forced to do it or watch it we're all adults capable of making our own decisions. There are plenty of people who enjoy it and that's who it's made for. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I myself don't watch porn but wouldn't object to watching it occassionally with a bf. I'm just putting in my 2cents, as a woman i don't find it degrading. Somehow I feel i must apologize to other women for saying this......

 

Yes, you are right in my case. I really get turned on by the submissiveness of a woman. But isn't your statement tautological? Women are designed by nature to be submissive. Even when a woman gets on top of a man she generally needs his permission or consent, because he is much stronger than her (so whether it's really control is debatable). The most commonly used position is missionary, in which the woman lays on her back with her legs spread out while the man has his way. It's as if some feminists are unhappy with their lot and want to change the way they were made/meant to be.

So yes, many men get off on the submissiveness of women in porn, because women are, whether or not involved in porn, generally submissive to men (there are exceptions, as in politics or business or in relationships where women have more dominant personalities).

Mr. anarchist, lets look at your argument that "men are turned on by 'submissive women' in a broader sense. when you say turned on, we can say that it is something "pleasing" to men. If you say that, then you say... "men are pleased by submissive women", now i say isn't everyone pleased by submissive groups of people?

Everyone wants to be rich, everyone wants power, everyone wants other people to do stuff for him/her , everyone wants others to listen to him/her. So basically everyone wants to "boss" around. Therefore everyone wants submissive women, submissive men, submissive creatures. Its a fact of life my friend that everyone wants to dominate others.

I disagree. Women do not like submissive men. Women do not like weak men. Women like men with good bodies and who are confident, which usually translates into some form of social dominance. There are all kinds of stories out there of men getting dumped or told by someone they are attracted to that they should just be friends, because the man wasn't acting like a man in the relationship, wasn't challenging enough.

Right now I am working out and running, because I know that will make me more attractive to women. I also feel better about myself and feel healthier psychologically since I have been working out. There are guys out there who are fat, even obese, and they are not rich, and still they can pull girls who look like models. I give mad props to these guys, but they are the exception.

I think you're overanalyzing this. Women are by nature weaker, yet still very elegant. They are also smaller. Women have certain childlike features compared to men that build attraction for many if not most men.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying women are here to serve men. What I am saying is that sexually men generally want women to be submissive, and I believe that this has biological roots. I believe women want men to be men in bed.
