Your man Mark Emery fought something legally identical in his early career. Guess what it was? Shopping on Sunday. No joke. My argument is why defend the rights of someone who knowingly pushed legal boundaries in his career to the point of being a rapist? "community standards" is the judicial concept the judge has to use because that is the current precedent for determining whether or not an obscenity law is enforceable at the local level under the US Constitution. So yeah, it has everything to do with this case. The definition of obscenity goes something like this: you can't define it, but you know it when you see it. So, it is necessarily broad.

I have said nothing against laws that protect the rights of women, and that is pretty cheap of you to use a subject so serious for your straw man, when you could not possibly think I really feel antipathy for the rights of women. Rape is a felony, and I feel the material posted is utterly revolting. But we are not talking about a case where the accused is being prosecuted for rape or abuse.
