Just curious how many out there are addicted to porn and love it. I have been watching porn in some form or fashion( magazines, movies) for about 27 years now. I have joined many sites and purchased thousands of dollars worth of DVDs. I know I am addicted but I have come to accept it and as funny as it may sound I consider myself a pornosexual. I can no longer become satisfied by a woman. Anybody else out there?
Generally speaking, porn addiction is a derivative of a person who lacks the skills to maintain a healthy relationship with a real person. Women in porn are so unrealistic it can be comical. Your posting doesn't indicate that you are addicted, merely that you enjoy porn and choose to indulge that interest. Calling anything an "addiction" that isn't ingested, inhaled, or injected is suspect. The only such addiction not meeting this general description recognized at this point is gambling. You may have an obsession or compulsion that rises to the level of a disorder of mental health, but even for that to be true, it would have to interfere with the things that you say are truly important to you in life. Your posting doesn't indicate your interest in porn interferes with your ability to provide food, clothing, or housing for yourself. You aren't incarcerated, and you manage to stay employed, right? To choose porn, which is produced essentially for masturbatory purposes, over human relationships is simply a choice you have made. The only thing you accomplish by calling it an addiction is an attempt to relieve yourself of culpability for having made a bad choice today, and for having dismissed countless opportunities to help others in life, choosing instead to indulge your own private pleasure. No one loves an addiction.
