I try to imagine a life where we could just go on w/o ever having to struggle or fight, but in all honesty I believe that's what it takes most of the time. There can't always be peace , and if there were what would be left to learn ??
What would we have to learn? Among billions in just the Milky Way alone, I'm sure we could keep ourselves busy.

If everyone followed ONE rule...we would have peace. “do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
pretty much everything. there's a whole universe out there. lack of peace is a needless, self serving annoyance that gets in the way of creativity. to each their own. those who love war need their own little sandbox somewhere out of everyone else's way to go play in.
that doesnt work its unfair for the people who enjoy things that some do not some people fantasize about being raped for instance
It's not just about war, it could be our own inner conflicts or just struggling to survive , don't most learned things come from necessity ? Sorry , I wasn't clear when I posted.

Life originally was primarily about surviving. You couldn't live without any struggle at all, there just are struggles. From getting food to protect yourself from nature etc. Now a lot of us have the luxury to live life while not being busy with the basic elements of survival, we can really live. Does this mean life is now without any (inner or outer) struggle, fight or conflict? Of course not. But it is a lot better than having no other choice than being busy with surviving (well, that's my opinion. People may disagree on that).
It can be interesting to ponder how much of the conflict is inherent in physical life and how much is purely a human creation. Seems we often make things a lot worse for ourselves than they need to be. Hard to disagree. People who are struggling to survive don't have time for much else.
Well it is of course arguable that when people were still more busy with survival than you or me but also had some time left over to enjoy, that they were less happy or felt less fullfilled etc. etc. I'm not talking about 3rd world situations in our times here but about hunter/gatherers who had their shit together or people some time later who were harvesting and still had a tough life compared to us, but also had time and fun to 'live'.
Not always. Some people like the fact that they grew up where everyone was indoctrinated into a specific religion, and think they are doing others a favor by pushing them into a narrow belief system.
