in all honesty Eliot, you've ruffled quite a few feathers over the years. as much as I notice a change in you, it will take you quite a bit of time for others to see that and for you to earn enough respect to be given a shot a mod.

That's fine, and I expected that. I doubted I would actually get any type of majority. But, like I said before, this is more about me saying the things that myself and others wanted to be said than it is about me becoming a mod.

 

..... you may want to find a way to refer to that in a less offensive manner. ie, not -making- because that sounds a lot like rape.

 

I certainly agree. this forum does without a doubt need a new mod. its the most high traffic forum on the site an the mods are non-existent for the most part.

There certainly have been times where its been needed for someone to step in and send certain members to time out. hell, i've probably been out of line plenty and the random thoughts would be better off if I were temporarily banned.

if its not you, then yes, it should be someone other than those currently assigned the 'job'

And the other thing I want to stress: It is because of lax moderating that the forum quality has been allowed to decline. And as a result of this, we have lost members like Matt, Christine, Trish, Mike, Adam, Alex, and many others who were once very regular, and very good, members at RT.

I also want people to know that I have not "changed." The person I am showing you now is who I am. Right now, I am posting as Eliot, not Cirrhosis. It was, as I have said many times, a character I played just to keep things interesting.

I am, believe it or not, not an angry person at all. I am incredibly laid back, incredibly easy-going, and, once again, believe it or not, very friendly.

And that's the poster I will probably resemble more from now on. I'll still give people shit, like I said, but that is part of who I am. I am somewhat of an asshole. But I'm not the complete fucking prick that you have seen for the past year and a half or so.

And so, there it is. That's a quick over-view of who I actually am. You'll see much more of who I am as I post more, and one day, you idiots who hate me might actually realize I'm a good guy and get over your fucktard selves and like me.

 

You will get warnings before you get banned. One of the things about this forum that bugs me (as I have experienced it) is you never get a warning, notification, or reason for being banned. And I understand that "you should have read the TOS." But isn't it, at the least, common courtesy to let people know when they're close to crossing the line?
