what the hell is necroposting anyways?

 

I've been a member of the forums since October of 2002. I was never banned on the old forums, but I used four different names.

Here, I have had many different names.

Cirrhosis
Twice_Nightly
TenCentArcade
numba1gangsta (Gimmick, and it was stupid to come back as that.)
And, finally, Deus Ex Cirrhosis

I also am registered as Clockwork, but I never received a confirmation e-mail, so I can't post as Clockwork, and I really don't use it much.

 

Necroposting is just as a described it: Posting in a thread that is very old and irrelevant for no apparent reason. It doesn't improve the thread, it doesn't offer any new information, it's just posting for the sake of posting. It is very obnoxious, and frowned upon by every other forum I have been a member of.

Why is that you even want to be moderator though? I agree that there should be a new one for R/T as the current ones don't interject much and yes your 'governing' criteria seems reasonable and well thought out. I would vote yes, but you can be entirely aggressive (even though you're generally kidding) and offensive (for the weak of heart) to a number of people on these boards. granted you've toned things down quite a bit in part deux, so that's progress, but in my mind, you still have a ways to go before I said, you know, he'd be a good moderator for this forum.

I do agree though that there needs to be a new mod for the Random Thoughts.

I apologize, I should have made myself more clear. If you are adding something relevant, there is nothing wrong with it. The only time it isn't acceptable is when you are posting only to post, or in other words, spamming.

If you have something intelligent to add, by all means, bump away. Hell, it could be from five years ago. As long as you are contributing to the quality of the thread, I have no problem with anything that you post.

 

i think you have a better chance becoming supreme ruler of the peoples republic of congo than you do becoming a mod on hipforums... you even have a fan club to remind you that some people on hipforums do like you...

 

And I can 100% guarentee you that, while I will always give people shit, I will no longer be downright brutal and heartless. Like I said earlier, I'm tired of that. I have no need for it.

I doubt it as well. Although I am not the same Cirrhosis I used to be, I understand that's nothing but my word, and at this point, my word is not very trustworthy. However, I'm not so much doing this to see if I get modded, although that would be nice, as much as I'm doing it to say the things that needed to be said. The issues I addressed, and others that I didn't address, are issues that many senior members have with the current moderating team.

Edit: Although, to make things clear, I hope you aren't voting for whether you think I will be modded, and instead are voting for whether you think I should be modded.

 

if its degrading to be ruled over .....how much more humiliating then to choose our masters . i have never voted for anything in my life .....leaders will make excellent dog food after the revolution .
