what's really boring is local politics. a bunch of sad little men with no real ability to do anything useful, running around and patting themselves on the back for having been elected even though they ran against nobody.
i mostly meant that figuratively, although in my experience a lot of them do seem to be below average in height.
But how can one appreciate it if they really believe its all fake (which it obviously isn't)? I mean if I would have that conviction I could appreciate taking notice of it even less!
Yeah, but that's actually scripted. And ment to entertain. Politics aren't (speeches are of course). When it appears to you that politics are made to entertain you should see how, why and/or what made it so. You will see its usually not politics on itself but how its portrayed and edited by the media via which you take notice of it
Wouldn't know whether its boring or interesting. Never had any interest to begin with. Never even cared to register to vote.
As a kid I used to watch the show Crossfire all the time. This was at a time when I thought I could trust politicians.
if you mean partisan ideologies, yes. if you mean actual issues, they're what we experience in real life. it isn't about what kind of people they are, its about whether what they do is for or against the kind of world you want to live in. if you don't care what kind of a world you have to live in, fine, leave it to people who are willing to do the homework to figure out how things actually work. by then, don't try to blame someone else, when what you don't care about, turns around and bites you on the ass, because you didn't. freedom isn't a beauty contest between personalities, freedom is being able to weigh in yourself, on issues that interest you.
You should be selective with your trust (which is one reason to keep at least somewhat in touch with the political situation). And never trust blindly.
