First, the neighbors of the San Bernardino shooters were aware their neighbors were getting suspicious, but refused to contact the police for fear of being islamaphobic. Now this time a teenage girl kills herself after experiencing the harsh backlash of racist accusations from social justice warriors online after doctoring a photo to make herself darker and wearing a headscarf. http://heatst.com/entertainment/social-justice-warriors-push-teen-to-suicide/ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3762278/Girl-16-took-life-fearing-s-called-racist-picture-darkened-skin-shared-online.html Man, this really pisses me off. We now live in a world where everything is racist, sexist, ableist, or transphobic to some asshole out there. These social justice assholes must have no life by basing their entire existence going on an online witch hunt language policing the mildly "offensive" actions posted by others. They are cry bullies who are quick to accuse others of being racist when they are not. The social backlash and fear of being called a bigot is bad enough to push someone to their own demise this day in age. And now a non-racist teenager kills herself and a family is heartbroken.
I dunno, personally I find it a little suspect that the police were so sure about the photo being the only cause of suicide when her family said she was behaving strangely in the months leading up to her death. I am happy social media wasn't around when I was a teen though, who needs that kind of microscope
Thats a bit of a leap in both cases First off the neighbours of the shooters, more likely they just feared getting shot, didnt think police would be able to protect them completely, annoymous tips not all that confidential Secondly the girl, you or anyone else has no idea why she really killed herself
The west side of Atlanta has seen 4 young girls hang themselves in the last couple of years. One of them left a note so her mother would remember to turn in her homework. I don't know what the source of such grief can be nor what drives the disassociation with life. I'd like to find something to blame, but it's not under my control. I'm only an observer.
Thread title and OP tell more about the thread creator and what he's concerned about (PC behaviour) than this particular happening. Well, there's a lot of info about this dramatic case as well but unfortunately it is mostly jaded with uncertain conclusions that suit the thread creators perspective. When I clicked the first link I thought at first i had reached the wrong article as the first paragraphs were all about bioshock infinite and how racist that game was regarded by some people... uhm who freaking cares. Credible article dude
I couldn't read the first article. Second article was poorly written and didn't really say anything about people bullying her, it just said the photo was shared outside her circle. What inquiring minds really want to know is where in Asia is her cyber boyfriend from where she feels like she has to have darker skin to fit in? Skin whitening products are huge in Asia.
The first link is an editorial written by someone who has experienced the impact of having their reputation destroyed by the social justice movement through being labeled as a racist. And it's a comparative analysis between what he felt and what Phoebe Connop must've felt. How is it not credible? Where do you get the idea that I'm not much concerned that a young girl killed herself? Yes, I admit I despise the language policing, cry bullying, hate speech, microagression, trigger warning, safe space, fascist grievance culture of the social justice left. And how much it has negatively impacted the youth of my generation.
