I really am done with following elections and trying to achieve social justice through VOTING. As an activist literally doing legwork with a group, I helped save a pristine desert Mesa with priceless sacred native pictographs TWICE. Best we can do with voting seems to be lesser of two evils. However, whether this man ever runs for President is no joking matter, and he has been the ruination of his state. memeboi.jpg

So, NOT voting fixes what? The problem there is that the crazies vote religiously....and they count on the young, the students, the minorities and the 'oh we just give up' people not voting.

I didn't say I won't vote. I can only vote for the lesser of two evils, but I will certainly do so to allay the harm to real people the greater evil will cause. I'm just not getting invested in the primary process or really hoping that anyone useful to addressing the myriad catastrophic failures of our whole way of living on this planet. It sucks that there's no real way to get left wing representation from the two political parties who make all the rules and got all the hype of the material world and its many distractions on their side. Meaningful change will not happen in my lifetime unless it is either for the worse, up to and including CANNIBAL WARS, or due to some powerful influence outside of the realm of politics. As far as I'm concerned ALL politicians are washed up useless and disgraceful. You know the Democrats did virtually nothing to prevent Trump from appointing a significant percentage of the supreme court. Certainly a lot of posturing. Looks like we're headed for the biggest circus of all time. I'm heading into Wovoka country now, friend. Doing the Ghost Dance. Back to cassettes, Pirate Radio, and THE UNDERGROUND, for me. But as far as voting is concerned? Only doing it to keep the Republicans from taking over as I think most Republican politicians are now too far right for even the most right wing politicians of the 1980s when I was a teenager. I'm more tuned in to the turn on, tune in drop out thing. People who wanted socialism in the 60's saw that they couldn't even get liberal capitalists elected and a lot of them founded co-ops and communes and some had another layer of autonomy from right wing government by using the protection of religion-- they started their own religions. For me it is really back to where the people can and will always congregate-- the underground. This whole country could go full Mad Max and there will still be and underground. Mine was literally a place underground called Voltaire's Basement.
Part of my reason of joining this forum is I think we need to go back. We have two big solar eclipses which happen to bookend my literal 7 years of bad luck (not too sure if it's exactly 7 and the boundries of when your darkness begins and ends in such times, well... I lived through hell). Additionally I saw an annular eclipse in 2012 in Corona New Mexico at sunset with my wife who I met online and had a distance relationship with. This year I can again view an annular eclipse, this time in the morning. In Corona. Now by myself, my wife and I separated by 1000 miles. But I love her now more than ever, and if love can get us through this, the State of New Mexico will bring her my children and I will get to be there with them as often as I may travel and she and the kids can come to me. So maybe when that next total solar ecipse comes we can all see it together. My whole family. I am hoping to use positive thinking to manifest a lifestyle where I can keep a room OR "the Wee House" at my cousin's place, get a van, and start a life more on the road between my wife and me. Austin is right in between us and I can sell tapes there and do small informal one man band performances because I was very much a part of the scene there in the same exact way Daniel Johnston was. We both came to Austin the same year, did the same thing and became local legends. Daniel Johnston went to New York and had great collaborations and got a lot more notoriety. I had a similar career turn by going to New Hampshire to be a part of Suckdog, sometimes known as "the Suckdog Circus." We lived in a van like four of us in 98 and I also toured with Lisa Suckdog in 91.
But you know I have to contain my madness by being a Monk and withdrawing from the world. I really am happier when I am free. I just can't handle the grotesque and wildly misleading landscape of electoral hopes. But you know, there may come a day when there has to be an underground railroad of sorts between the states the way things have been going so far right in some states... mainly ones that have dark history.
The real power is with the people. but not in one time and one place for very long. I hate to pull up my roots so much when I live right between White Sands National Monument and Lincoln National Forest with tall trees, taller mountains, and cool summers.
I wish people would get together enough to change things, but it is going to take some kind of cosmic event to change anything. Something out of the blue, for sure. I stopped trying to see the future when nobody heeded my warnings.
So many of the things we think are so important all the time end up NOT being the things we remember from those times in our lives. There was something else going on at the time that happened. I'm trying to follow a more Daoist path with my life right now.
After 2016 and 2020 I'm absolutely burned out on elections. Not a good place to invest your hope. Vote certainly, but don't spend valuable effort being a spectator. There's ways to make life better all around you and people you can meet to channel your hopes with-- I worked with people twice to save a place I never knew about. We didn't do demonstrations, but we went to town halls. My friend went to the Beauro of Land Management and the County Commisioners. We built a coalition between the Mescalero Apaches and old ranch families and kept nuclear waste from contaminating an untapped and bountiful aquifer! I met my Senator's field Rep and sent her an email when we found out that the Energy Department contract would be void because yes, that was an earthquake zone (we made some phone calls to the mining institute and found that out!). The Senator was up in a Helicopter checking the place out the next day and they shut that god damned corporation down! contract void! And that was only the SECOND time. So I am hoping to go out, play my music, meet people. Maybe help people who might feel like refugees. That'll be my monestary on wheels. I hope I get a van someday. I loved it when I had one.

It's a slow process for sure and doesn't bring immediate results. Still I vote in every election I can. Unfortunately my newest criterion is wholesale elimination of consideration of voting of anyone in a particular political party as long as that party supports t**** so fucking much. The level of influence t**** has is unprecedented and toxic. Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan are turning over in their graves. But I digress. I hate the idea of political parties and one reason is I don't like to vote strictly along partisan lines, but in this case the Republican Party has become a disrespectful cesspool that must lose all support from all decent people.

I wish they'd bring back the party line vote box on our ballot here. Save me a minute in the booth, [ X ] Democrat.

Isn't it refreshing to see Matt Gaetz fuck someone older than 16?

What condition does Trump take his anti-anxiety medication for?
    Hispanic attacks.

How does Donald Trump play darts?
He throws darts and then proceeds to draw the targets around them afterwards.

Abraham Lincoln couldn't tell a lie.
Richard Nixon couldn't tell the truth.
Donald Trump can't tell the difference.
