BudToker, are you a pig? ;) Just kidding man.
But there are alot of asshole cop's, I think every single cop I've met has either been a dick to me, or treated me like i was inferior to them. Cop's are only nice when your little like the D.A.R.E. cops. From the age of 13 on, you are public enemy #1.

FYI: White people STILL do that to people in minority groups (not just, but including, black people). And the racists thought (and still think) they were right 99.99% of the time, so think about what you are saying. I think all stereotypes are just as bad as all other stereotypes.

I am begining to think cops in the US are nicer than cops overseas.

What does that have to do with anything? I am a pot head Jew (well by birth/culture, but I do not follow any beliefs), my dad used to be a pot smoking Jew, and my Aunt was a hardcore pot head/underage drunk Jew. Non of us have had trouble with the law (with the exception of my Aunt being caught smoking or drinking by police at parties a few times, but it wasn't profiling or anything like that), nor do we have fear of the law.

What clothes do you wear? I wear all sorts of clothes, sometimes I wear all black emo/goth stuff, sometimes tye-dye hippie stuff, sometimes preppy stuff, sometimes "gangster" stuff (or course I am stereotyping for the sake of arguement because I really think what you were is not who you are). I am non of these things though. Most of the time I wear stoner shit (you know, MJ leafs, Jimi Hendrix shirts, etc.), but I have never gotten crap from a cop because of the way I look. I have had long ass shaggy hair, short hair, beard, no beard, bald, you name it (highschool was fun!). I have lived in big cities where there is a lot of police action (philadelphia, right outside DC), I live in a small town right now (where actually 5/7 of the cops are jerks). I have never been stereotyped by the cops or picked on for what I am wearing or my political backround (I am very left wing with a hint of independant). I think (not trying to pick on you) that there is something else they notice (maybe smell of pot) that clues them into something and makes them think you are a pothead or w/e they may think. Or you just have asshole cops where you live.

I've been in situations where I could've had my ass thrown into jail 3 times, and those 3 times, the cops let us off with just a lecture(even once when we were going 80 in a 35 to try to outrun the cop over town lines) and one of the situations had 6 cops involved, and all in each were cool, then another time, on the highway while with my friend on the highway, she got pulled over for doing 74 in a 55(and it was only speeding in the technical sense, we were doing that speed behind the cop, who was going faster then us, then switched lanes and slowed down and got behind us, while at this time there were people zooming by going 90) well either way that cop was a massive bitch, but it was a state trooper and that's their reputation anyways, guess they earned it.

And as for upholding unjust laws, we don't get to choose what laws we wanna follow, nor do they get to choose which ones they want to enforce, when you're lucky you'll get the cop who probably agrees more with you and will let you off with a warning/fine. But serriously, if you partake in something illegal, you know the consquences, the issue isn't with the cops, it's with the lawmakers.

And also, one of my friend's father is a cop, and my sister's boyfriend dad was a cop, and they've both admitted, cops just like to fuck with younger people, so beware.

    *edit*
Just felt like adding in a bit of a humerous moment when I was thinking back on the times I almost got busted, the one time when it could've been really bad I remember as the cop was frisking me down, he said "man, what is with the tight pants, the 80's are over"(I prefer tight pants) and as another cop was questioning me a few minutes later and asked if we had any illegal paraphernalia with me, I said, "uhhhh, well not with me"
Yes, dumb, beyond belief, but I was young and nervous and thought we were going to jail anyways haha.

I lived in philly and right near DC for most of my life, so I know there are some bad police, but the stereotype (liek all stereotypes) is rediculously stupid.

Cops are filth. They make me sick. Their lives are dedicated to fucking people over, yet somehow they manage to live with themselves. I've had one experience with the cops and all my "gratitude" for their protecting me went out the window. I treated them with respect and they treated me like filth. They are SWINE!!! I'll change when they change....

P.S. "Idle" is something your car does, "Idol" on the other hand

Cops have always been reasonable with me. I've been pulled over with no licience, no registration, no proof of ownership, no id, in a car with the wrong plates and I was allowed to drive the car home.

(just got it road-able, put my mom's licience plate on it and drove down the road, haha - actually to "vilekyle" as he's known on here, plus i did have to present them with proof of ownership within 7 days.)

Just recently got busted and had my pipe and grinder confiscated, but I mean, its not like they could just ignore it, laws are bullshit.. i mean, laws are laws.

I don't really have any hate for cops. When one gives me reason, I will judge the individual.

So you got a bad cop, big deal, it's like being in school, you'll get great teachers, and you'll get teachers that are out to make your life hell.

No, they ended up calling up half of the department for my town to try and get fingerprints from a bottle of wine and some beers. All of the cops lied to us on multiple occassions to try and force a confession. They took everyone in the group aside and lied about other people's testimonies to try and get a confession. And this wasn't a single cop, this was 7-8. And all for a couple bottles of booze and a bag of stems...

Indeed, lying is fine, as long as they don't start doing things to cross the line into coercion.

Ok, this may not follow the thread exactly, but I feel like sharing a quick story about my hometown's most famous douchebag cop. We've got some powertrip cops, and there's some more laidback ones, my encounters have been limited, thank God, so I don't know too many of the cops, but this one is everyone's favorite cop to hate. He used to be the K-9 officer, but I don't think he is anymore.
Over Christmas break, I was driving past a friend's house to see if he was home. I go down the hill past his house towards the intersection and there's a cop stopped right at the stop sign. He was parked at the curb, but right at the stop sign so if a car (like me) came up to the intersection, they would take up the entire road. As I ease down the hill, he turns on his flashers, but not the reds/blues, the yellows. I was high, and couldn't tell if he was pulling me over or just waving me by. I also had a briefcase in my trunk, and if found, there'd be no way out of a distribution charge. Especially since they had been busting some of the bigger dealers in my town, and people were giving names, so it was even worse, but that's another story. So if busted, possession, paraphanelia, and distribution. I slowly pull up along side him, point at myself to see if he's telling me to stop, but he just waves me on. I see which cop it is, and slowly drive away.
Bit of a long story, but if you read it, cool. If not, fuck it. It's just a grate feeling to know what you just got away with, especially from the cop you would not want to deal with.

He allowed me time to prove to him that I was the owner of the vehicle, and you're always allotted time to present your licience.

Another story about non-pig cops. I just got into an accident with another car during the weekend. Both police officers that showed up couldn't have been nicer. One called a cab for me and stayed with me for 45 minutes after the scene was cleaned up (even though he had a whole bunch of work to do) to wait for the cab (wich was 30 minutes late because of bad snow). He allowed me to get all of my belongings out of my car before it was towed and did not search my car or the bag I put everything in. He also saved my ass when the son of the guy in the other car drove up, got out of his car, went up to the cop and said "IS this the guy who was drivng the other car?!", while pointing to me. The cop said "settle down" and the guy got back in his car and said "Oh he is gonna pay!". He started up his car and started driving toward me. The cop took out his beatin stick and whacked the windshield for the guy to stop. The guy yelled at him "don't worry about it!" and the cop dragged him out of the car. The guy wasn't arrested because he didn't directly threaten me or resist/disobey the cop, but if the cop wasn't there either I would have been hurt by the guy or the guy would have been hurt by me, or both. As long as you are respectful to the cops, they are respectful back.
