I'm lost. This has been all over the news, and people are losing their minds! I don't have a cell phone, so how exactly does this work? Do you just hold your phone up, and like a 3D image appears, or maybe a dot on the screen at some random location? Can everyone see the same pokemon (mons/men?) and are there rare ones? What if one appears inside your hot-ass neighbor's bedroom and you can see it through the window, while her husband is at work? What do?
A Massachusetts homeowner has been dealing with unexpected visitors since his home showed up as a gym in Pokemon Go. http://www.cnn.com/videos/tech/2016/07/13/boon-sheridan-pokemon-go-house-gym-orig-vstan.cnn Hotwater
so the players have been robbed, fallen off cliffs, walking into traffic, getting into car accidents.. only thing left is getting eaten by a Florida gator. Whats the going odds on that? I want to make a bet..
Haha yeah I was pretty disappointed to find there are no pokemon at all near my work which looks much like the first picture. Not to mention everyone playing from their cars making it lazy again.
Well just got back from walking around for well over an hour with my boyfriend, which is something i would gladly do every day for no reason at all but which he wont do for longer than 20 minutes a t a time normally. But somehow this week without my noticing he's gotten really into pokemon go. So i now have a walking partner and he has a half hearted pokemon go partner. And i gave him plenty of shit the whole time so I feel like we both got a lot out of it. I do think it will devolve into a marketing ploy eventually to lure people into businesses.
On the news it has been reported that there have been 2 players that have found dead people. ewwww Plus of course the usual walking into traffic, falling off a cliff, etc etc... Anything to avoid for real working in the yard or reading a book. lol
I went downtown last night because everyone kept telling me there was a park with a ton of pokestops in it. I got there and there were crowds of people playing pokemon go all over the place. At one point someone I the park yelled "Dragonaaiiiiir" (rare pokemon) and ran off in one direction and the hordes of people ran after them. It was pretty hilarious. Strange and fun to be a part of though. I met lots of people too. We got into a conversation about why this is so popular that I thought would be useful to this thread. Basically 2 generations now have grown up watching pokemon and playing pokemon games and it has built up a huge Fandom because of that. I started watching pokemon at 8, I traded and played pokemon cards for years in the schoolyard as a kid, I saved up my allowance to buy pokemon games, I was Jesse from team rocket for halloween once, etc. So many people in my age group have similar pokemon memories, not just the nerdy ones. We all dreamed and hoped we could go out and catch pokemon in real life AND NOW WE CAN!
Yeah, give me a star wars version and I think I would go nuts. A star wars version where you could have lightsaber battles, that would be so cool. Pokemon Go is only the beginning
That's how a fully functioning relationship is ought to look like :-D Well, if those people were missing it can be argued the game had some useful purpose after all
I would be slightly more excited (as I do not play any kind of game on my phone anyway and am not planning to, certainly not this kind). But I've been pissing on Pokemon ever since it got popular. I hate the drawing style, I found the story/setting worthless and that other people liked it annoyed me out of proportion. I really don't understand why so many people like it. Gullible kids, ok. With the right commercial and peer pressure you can make them buy and collect anything... One of my friends used to reply to my nagging: yes I kind of agree, but Dragonball Z is much better. Well it sure didn't look like it
Man that sounds awesome. I'm sure that will come in the future along with a Harry potter game where you walk around casting spells and an lotr one where you just walk around...
Also kick myself for not thinking about getting in on Nintendo shares. 15000 yen to 28000 yen, almost doubled inside two weeks Gahhhh!
Did you ever enjoy a videogame, Piaf? I love playing through a good story, but not on a small screen somewhere in public. I like being emerged in it (not really looking forward to those 3d glasses/VR though) so preferring a big screen and good graphics made me ignore all handheld gaming devices I did play Tetris on a handheld thingie as a kid
Lol I like the LOTR one, all the hullabaloo then will be about kids passing out from over dehydration and exertion and a push will be made to get them back to the safety of their living rooms in front of the t.v. Btw, Have you caught a hullabaloo yet?
What if it would all be about escaping from the nazgul and/or orcs? It would probably cause more traffic accidents though
Smart phones annoy me, which is why pokemon go annoys me. But i guess there's no point in denying..if there was a LOTR or Harry Potter Go game I would be all over that shit like white on rice
