If you like free streaming services, I rate this one highly.

    PLEX

Tuned in last night and was delighted at the glitch free experience, and high quality of the videos.

There is a TON of stuff to watch, including live news channels, movies, sports and much more.

Using their discover feature you can search and find stuff created through the last century and into the now.

I hope you all enjoy the experience.

If you have a spare computer. Or just go out and get a cheap Raspberry Pi, PLEX can also be your own private media server, upload and catalog your videos and music. Plus, for a small monthly fee, you can turn PLEX into a whole home DVR, that can be accessed by any device on your home network. I built a PLEX Server in my home 5 years ago. it was a great addition to my home entertainment system,
The whole setup, including the Raspberry Pi, an SD Card for the Operating System, and a 2TB Hard Drive to store media on, cost me less than $300.

Im just looking for a way to play local tv without wifi or data. Obvious i need an app & antenna. Pad tv app may work once i get appropriate antenna. Which aint got yet. Most of these apps need wifi or data.

Actually, if you have a TV with composite ports on the back, you can get a digital converter for about $40 and a good OTA Antennae for about $20. and you can watch broadcast channels in your area without internet or wif.fi.

I think all you need is a digital antenna, they're cheap. You have to be in range of the broadcast of course. That won't get you internet, and you don't need an app to get those signals. If you want to record the signals there's old school VCRs, CD recorders, DVD recorders, etc.

You can find TV Stations in range of you, by entering your zip code in the FCC Reception Guide. It will give you channel number and frequency strength to make setting up a digital converter or DVR easier. Still No Internet or Wi/Fi needed.
