How'd it turn out? Do you like it?

Before highlights I used Natural instincts #14 in Tweed. I liked it. It did bring out some of my own reds.

 

It turned out good! Not a whole lot different from my own shade, as I suspected, although it is a tad lighter with a lot more auburn.

I used Amber Shimmer I think it was called.

 

I agree. Some people can pull of highlights/certain colors and others look better with what they were born with. Sophomore year I was going to get dark caramel highlights but never got around to it. Highlights would be pointless for me especially now because my hair gets so much lighter in the summer.

Yeah, that's another reason why I've been hesitant to do the whole highlighting thing myself. My hair gets so many natural highlights through it during the summer months anyway, lightens up quite a bit. If I got highlights, I'd have to worry about the sun turning them brassy anyway.

 

I think highlights from the sun look way better than salon highlights

well, now, i don't think that's quite the same thing, though. shaving your beard, fixing your hair and wearing your best clothes is more an apt comparison. because in the morning, you're gonna be ugly, too.

you already know a girls gonna be wearing make up at the bar, or some of the smaller chicks put on a wonderbra....you know that going in....if you dont' want to deal with the morning after seeing some ugly chick, don't go out drinking and pick up chicks at a bar/nightclub...

 

i love volvos. i used to have this awesome van that dave and i could camp out in together when we'd had too much to drink or whatever. some fun times in that van.
