Dear people My name is Tomasz. I am Polish psychologist. My dream is to write doctoral project regarding inter religious dialogue. (and religious pluralism). I do believe that we all believe into the same God. Could please advice 8 -15 the most important philosophers, activists etc. representing inter religious dialogue. Also if possible, please advice titles of the most important books regarding this subject ( please do not advice 20 books for example, because sometimes only few regard mentioned subject). I only know John Hick, and John Paul 2nd (who was more philosopher than theologian). Also please advice works of Hick regarding his Kantian background - that open his thinking for pluralism. Please do not send me to Google - it generates millions of scores. My question is addressed to people who already have some knowledge regarding this topic and can offer specific answer. Religion of persons does not matter - I respect all religions also agnostics. Please show me the way. Thanks for your time Best Regards Tomasz P.S. Sorry for limited English - I keep on working on it. However, I am not native."

In my experience all gods are manifestations of the same thing. Humanity has always looked for a "guiding" force in life and when presented with the question of what it is we often turn to gods. Perhaps when we speak of any god be it Yahweh, Jehovah, Shiva, Cernunnos, Baal, Thor, whichever, we are actually speaking of the unknowable "divine" energy that defines all of us. Perhaps all things are tied to this energy, perhaps all gods are slivers of the same and are all equal. Gravity, matter, antimatter, all of it. Look into this if you will. It may open up entirely new lines of thought for you man. The Tao Te Ching
YES I know and share your points of view But please (if you could) suggest some readings Bless you Tomasz
You might find this interesting: Welcoming Flowers from across the Cleansed Threshold of Hope: An Answer to Pope John Paul II's Criticism of Buddhism Paperback by Thinley Norbu (Author) A response to the Buddhism chapter of Pope John Paul II's best-selling book Crossing the Threshold of Hope. In 1993, an Italian reporter asked Pope John Paul II to speak on the subject of Buddhism, especially its doctrine of salvation and its relationship to Christianity. The Pope's answer, which was published as part of a book the following year, grossly misrepresents the Buddhist worldview, claims respected Buddhist teacher Thinley Norbu. Welcoming Flowers is Norbu's attempt to identify and correct such errors. In responding to the false charges of Buddhists' indifference to evil and disengagement from the world, Norbu clarifies the Buddhist doctrines of detachment, or nonclinging, and enlightenment. In addition, he covers the topics of sin, human nature, karma, and compassion, bringing them into conversation with the Christian perspective Paperback $12.62 1 New from $12.62
I did suggest a reading for you man. The Tao Te Ching is the founding book of the religious philosophy Taoism. It was written by the ancient philosopher Lao Tzu, in the 6th century B.C. and is all about his ideas on virtue and what he saw as the way. You can find many modern copies for decently cheap man. http://www.amazon.com/Psychedelic-Prayers-Other-Meditations-Timothy/dp/0914171844"]Psychedelic Prayers: And Other Meditations, Timothy Leary http://www.amazon.com/Ching-25th-Anniversary-English-Mandarin-Chinese/dp/0679776192/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1385584598&sr=1-2&keywords=tao+te+ching+jane+english"]Tao Te Ching, 25th Anniversary Edition, Translators Giu-Fu Feng & Jane English
I know Crossing the Threshold of Hope - I love chapter about his respect for Judaism. However, I think that JP2nd did not fully understood Buddhism and Hinduism He absolutely pointed that Christ is only good choice. Later on he changed his point of view, apologized many religions for Catholic sins and start to implement Catholic document Nostra Aetate (poining than salvation is possible in each religion if you follow moral rules - you can regejct Christ as your God - it is not a point). However I want to read "Welcoming Flowers from across the Cleansed Threshold of Hope: An Answer to Pope John Paul II's Criticism of Buddhism" P.S. Do you know Thomas Merton ? Dialogue between Christianity and Buddhism, Christ versus Buddha. Great theologian, philosopher and real mystic. Please read Zen and the birds of appetite - Cosmos !!!!!!!! Great opening for interreligious dialogue THANK YOU
I suggest Jew in the Lotus, by Rodger Kamenetz, which is about cross-theology dialogue. http://www.amazon.com/The-Jew-Lotus-Rediscovery-Identity/dp/0061367397/ref=tmm_pap_title_0"]The Jew in the Lotus: A Poet's Rediscovery of Jewish Identity in Buddhist India (Plus): Rodger Kamenetz: 9780061367397: Amazon.com: Books
i would recomend lao tsu or baha'u'llah. everything believed about the nature of god is human speculation. almost opposite ends of the specturm but both seem to agree on this point
