Pirating, A True Random Thought

I used to stream premium tv shows but then one bad link gave my computer a virus so I stopped. Now I just use my mother in law's cable account to access the ShowTime and hbo app through x box live.

Spotify has pretty much every album I could ever want. The only albums it doesn't offer seem to be bands or musicians that dont really need the money anyways...which just goes to show most artists are willing to give their music away for free for the exposure

Imagine if everyone had a house, a car, and food. Computers do that for art and information.

i pirated satellite tv for years

i didnt consider it stealing because they actually had no business beaming all that digital material into canada

 

I'd rather pirate than give money to time warner or comcast, but I believe the content creators deserve revenue somehow

 

Most of the gigs I go to are like a 10€ cover charge hehe. Bigger acts 30-50€.

But also, I buy merch too so figure in up to 100€ for me and my girl depending on what's for sale. I always get a tour shirt and beer can holders and if the hoodies are cute and comfy then I'll get one of those too.

I think bands make money off merch on tour.

 

Well, the world has a lot of criminals.....That's why we have prisons.

Inside those prisons exist innocent people in jail for things they didn't do......A lot of non violent drug related crimes....ect.

Smoking marijuana is criminal behavior in California where I live.

50 years ago it was criminal behavior for black & white people to get married. Law doesn't mean a damn thing to me beyond control.

And no, I am not being sarcastic.

Just because someone has power doesn't mean they know any better than you do. I believe this is one of those instances.

serious answer: no, i don't pirate. i have in the past, and i don't really have any issue with it morally, but at this point it's generally quicker and easier to just go about it legally. most any music can be found on youtube, and i don't care to watch any tv show or movie enough that i feel the need to download it from questionable sources if it's not readily available on tv or a streaming website. and i'm not really much of a computer gamer, so i have no real reason to pirate games either.
