Due to downloading compressions of movies (which is just an add for the real full retail copy)I own more movies that ever. Afterall because after seeing then I get the DVD copy. Also buy blank media dvd to save store copy.I also join clubs to rent dvds.So they getting money from me
i meant the UMDs themselves have shitty load times.. some games it can take up to like 30sec to load... sure it dont sound like a lot of time.. but when you're gaming and your use to 5-10sec.. 30sec can seem like forever
I have no problem at all with piracy because I currently have no means of transportation and little money to spend, so I'd rather see a movie for free first to see if it's even worth spending money on. If I like it, I'll usually buy it. If I don't like it, well, that just means I'm not paying someone for their piece of crap.
It kind of sucks for some bands. They definitely are seeing a decrease in CD sales. I have a friend from the band "The Wedding" (really good btw), and he said he lost like a ton of his year's salary in between the time music pirating started getting big.
While this is true, this has been going on for years while the economy was good and before iTunes became all the rage. One of my best friends worked at FYE for years before it closed and another friend had a parent who was a manger at another chain music store for a while, and the fact is when it comes down to it most of the hurt for these people is because most people do not want to buy music at all anymore. And as to be expcted, both music stores both said people worked at no longer exist anymore.
I don't download music, I have to much repsect for artists. I don't care of you make fun of me for it lol. I download tv shows, movies, and games though. I know it's hypocritacal, but I don't really care. And I know I spelled hypocritical wrong, or maybe I didn't. who knows.
I download everything. music, movies, tv shows, video games. it's not like i'm sitting here like "oh, fuck that band, I hate them, so I'll pirate their music." I just don't have the money to pay for music.
Hmm. Instead of stealing music people should try stealing weed from a dealer. I'm sure the dealer will understand. I mean, it's his fault right?
if there was a way where I could just download weed through my computer and like print it out instead of paying for it, I would do that in a heartbeat.
As far as I'm concerned, information, and that includes music, movies, games etc. should be considered free. Yes, a lot of people put a lot of work into that info. Which is why they should be the only ones who profit off selling it. That in no way should affect wether or not a person downloads a copy of it. They are not losing anything due to piracy. People who want to buy music, do so, sometimes at the cost of things other would consider priorities. That is their choice. Some put other priorities, food shelter clothes etc about that and so they don't buy the products. But they aren't stealing anything. The owner of it is not losing something (besides an imagined sale), physically, they still have everything they did before someone downloaded whatever it was. This is the same issue over satellite feeds for tv. If you put a dish on your property, and build a reciever (or rebuild one that you bought) and watch tv, you are not stealing anything, you are using what is being given away for free. Of course with this issue there is also the fact that the satellite owners didn't ask any of us if we wanted to be bombarded by their signals 24/7... they just did it. Why shouldn't we at least get to watch the tv that is pelting us and everything around us?
lmao, you gotta love tpb.... I don't remember seeing that episode, but I may have one foggy night and just forget... lol
See, music is not information, it's entertainment and art, and the artist owns that and most artist like to make money off it. Yes people who still want to buy music will buy music, obviously, but the point is most people who would've bought that music 10 years ago now won't because they can just download it for free and it's not like this money is going to pay for rent instead, it's going to beer and food and whatever else, no one buys CDs over paying for needs in life, it's just now they can spend the money on other fun things that are harder to steal. And it's not just the artist who normally makes money off it, people fail to take into account everything in between. Most bands pay for studio time that supports the people who own the studio and all the workers there. Then the CDs/vinyls have to be made in some factory which has workers and bills to be paid, then shipped by some guy who has to be paid to do it to a music store that has a rent and employees to pay.
and they can make their money off of products they sell, actual goods.. cd's posters, t-shirts and so on... As it is, the more popluar bands (ie the one that get pirated the most), are still making millions of dollars, living in mansions with expensive cars and so on... they havent been hurt in any way shape of form from piracy. But go ahead, tell the people who make in one year what one of those artists makes in one week that they are not being fair...
Yes, these bands are really rich, because people like what they do. I don't see why people have this hatred of successful people, they're only rich because they did something good, go make a really famous single and you can be rich too, all these people started off singing in some seedy bar just like everyone else. And numbers matter, good bands that should be really famous but aren't never get the chance bands used to because there's not as much money to be made off them since people can just download their music instead and their record company never puts any effort into promoting their name.
At no point did I say I hated rich people. I said, they weren't being hurt by piracy. Not being able to have two jag's in the driveway instead of one, is not pain... Not knowing if you can feed your family tomorrow is. But I guess if you are that poor, you shouldn't be listening to music...
Well then it's ok to pirate music, like I said I pirate tons of music, but it's out of lack of being able to buy all the music I want. But then again if you can't feed your family, maybe you shouldn't have internet to download music
