There are so many The Grateful Dead w/ Jerry, Pigpen, the Godcheaux's (sp?) and Tom Constatine, Joplin w/ Big Brother and the Holding Company, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Doors, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane w/ Grace, and I'd have to say a newer one would be... Rage Against the Machine I know...you said only one, but it's so hard to choose! Peace!
beatles ramones janis joplin jimi hendrix nirvana manic street preachers of the early 90s the doors peter tosh ella fitzgerald frank zappa
i like many from the 60's and 70's but they are too old now, they already did it. the band that i would have liked to stay would be the Smashing Pumpkins.
DEATH! Yes! Maybe Chuck's body has been exceptionally preserved so that if we revive him he'd be able to play again...
the pogues w/ shane mcgowan lynrd skynrd w/ ronnie van sant all the 60's san fran bands- airplane, dead, janis, quicksilver mama and the papas marley and tosh john denver and mac davis heheheheheheheheh NEWGRASS REVIVAL
Wow..... so many to choose from, but i gotta go with Bob Marley, the nicest man on the face of the planet spreading peace with his words, even getting shot, knowing who it was, and keeping that til his death, he was the man among men, jah love. Also Grateful Dead, i was a youngin when jerry passed and was slowly getting into older hip music of the liking. But to all that say "if jerry could have kicked his addiction, grateful dead would have been a great band" i find those statements to be kinda BS, for the fact that Jerry, or anyother musical artist of the 60's & 70's would have not been the same, cuz their drugs would have not influenced their music as much, jimi hendrix sober??? ya think purple haze or any of his other songs would have even been created???
Hmmmm, I got to see the grateful dead, jgb pink floyd and the subhumans, so who do I wish I could go see.......bob, is a real obvious choice but I wanna dig into the less already listed...I am gonna go with the Dead Kennedys
...The Who (sometimes known as "The Two"). Basically, it's just Pete & Roger, plus 2 replacements. It's just not the same. Let's put it this way, if Pete suddenly died & Roger continued to tour with 3 other replacements, would he still go by "The Who"? ...and the Doors of the 21st Century? What's up with that? Noooooo one can replace Jim Morrison. No one.
2004 was the year i was born and the year you said the realest thing ever.. sort of. my point is FUCK YEAH 12 RODS MENTIONED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to see the Grateful Dead reunite, but this time without John Mayer. Mayer essentially used his association with the Dead to broaden his audience, and then he split. Mayer did a very good job with his guitar work, but he does not embody the same level of humility that Garcia had. That is very important for the lead guitar role in that particular band. So, for the next iteration of the Dead, I'd like to see them take on a lead guitarist who has less ego, do occasional shows rather than doing long and grinding tour productions, and include Phil Lesh and Bill Kreutzman whenever possible.
