Naughty, naughty. Oil + oil filter should be changed every 6000 miles. 80's Toyotas are durable pieces of kit just as long as you don't neglect this little operation. Who knows, that Camry could have still been roadworthy today with the right care. I know of a Mazda Capella from 1988 that STILL runs fine after proper love and care. Only thing wrong with it is that one of the power window buttons broke off and is missing. The guy who owns it now uses the slim flathead screwdriver tool in his Leatherman to trigger the contacts that open/close the affected window. In terms of service life, 80's Japanese cars are the best. Japanese auto makers back then had true professional pride of their work.
That has NSW number plates. In those days didn't they make Cortinas at the Broadmeadows plant? Cortinas were developed in the UK but made in several other countries.
The Duesenburg was made in Auburn Indiana which is about 15 miles north of my house. It was made by the Duesenburg brothers who were Germans from Iowa, who had elected to relocate and start their factory in Auburn Indiana. In the early 1900s The Cord, The Studebaker, The Auburn, The International, and the Duesenburg were made here in Indiana. The Duesenb urg was considered the most luxurious car in the world. It was purchased by famous film stars like Gary Cooper, and other famous wealthy people, including royals of other nations. The Cord was owned by Tom Mix of the silent movies. The Auburn was owned by Clark Gable. The Auburn, Cord, and Duesenburg museum is in the town of Auburn and worth visiting. This is a photo of the Duesenburg.
Driving by the VW dealer in La Paz, Baja California Sur we saw this on display! I do not know why they are trying to kid, but this is not a pop top camper!!!
