Williams Lake. 11,000' Along the trail to Wheeler Peak, New Mexico's highest mountain (over 13,000'). Just outside the Taos Ski Valley.

 

If you look hard enough in the middle you can barely see the frog's head and eyes.

 

11:55.....PM! Ok, so we're more or less hiding from nature than being out in it at this moment in time.

Shes very tame and will take nuts from your hand

 

I used to put peanuts out for squirrels here, but never tried to hand feed them. I probably could have--they would come real close to me.

 

You have to be careful though .Like a cat their eye sight isnt great close up and I have had my finger bitten thinking it was the nut . Thankfully no blood drawn as I would have needed a Tetnus injection .
