they've sent me countless amounts of free pamphets and things to spread awareness and educate the public about animal cruelty..........im sure those things cost money......
Of course they need money to get their materials made...I am with 3 animal organizations, 2 of them being rescue orginizations and so therefore I know it takes money to make the awareness materials... However PETA still do not need to steal someone's money...my cousin ordered some merchandise from them...they got the money and Steph didn't get her things! Thats not fair...
Well every organization is bound to have some people in there who don't do the right thing. It is better to give to smaller organizations though.
I sure hope all know this... it was blown in the open a while back........ some hippie got smart and asked "Who is taping all of this animal tortue, and why?" answer... PETA field reporters. why? to justify a cause. and it turns out they pay the animal skinners, beaters, and mutilators to let them tape... and even buy the animals... where do they get their money... viewers like you. i didn't check out the link, but i assume this is what it is about.
PETA is about preserving CITES species the world over, it's not supposed to be an animal shelter or charity.
I do not agree with everythign Peta does and those two "members" should be put in jail for their crimes. I would not defend killing animals for a second. I cannot stand animal abusers. I just think that people do need to realize that Peta has done a LOT to help animals as well. Yes, their publicity stunts seem extreme to most, but deep down I think they do care. And at least you know who they are. They provide demonstration materials for activists, vegetarian recipes for those wanting to go veg, free starter kits. etc. You can't say they are all bad. It is mostly anti-animal welfare activists that are gung-ho about bashing peta (while eating their burgers, so I don't really think they care about animals either).
I haven't been a fan, especially not since I heard that Ingrid Newkirk advocates the pit bull ban. I love pitties!
PETA may go to extreme measures to get their message across but we need organizations like this because they do infact get their message across. I know people who have been turned around by reading PETA literature. Most people may not agree with their methods but the fact is they are very vocal, very public (thanks largely in part to celebrity endorsements) and do bring to light animal rights issues that most people may not be aware of. They make people aware of animal cruelty by shoving it in their faces. A lot of stunts pulled by animal rights activists are done by non-Peta members but PETA is always the one blamed because they are the most highly recognized animal rights organization. We need groups like this to fight for those who can not fight for themselves.
well, lets face it............ they have DONE some great stuff (veg info, leather etc...) BUT IT"S ALL OVER!.......... Their ega have taken over, they are now just a part of the matirx and the system.... You all know i guess the syndrome when a band or a radical group, once independant and very non-compromising gets taken over by the system, without knowing about it........ It happens all the time, I would say, i happens almost all the time!!!!! sad but true
i really don't know much about PETA, but now that i have seen that comic book I don't think that i could ever support someone giving violent and graphic material to children that is over my limit.
