People who either walk very slowly down stairs or actually stop and have a conversation. Students in libraries are especially good at this. People who keep lift doors open so they can continue their stupid conversation.
British people (actually, anyone) who say "I'm good" when you ask them how they are. it's not for them to say if they've been good - if I wanted to be sure, I'd ask their mum.
haha i do that ^ It annoys me when people type like "how r u?" on forums... And stuff like that... Its okay on msn etc but on the forum...
I just cant help reading it sounding like "rou". Especially with my mum who always types it together. "How ru?" "Ru there?"
this isn't really brits, its everyone. but people who chew loud/with their mouth open. oh my god i hate that shit. thats my biggest peeve by far.
People who use words from other languages while speaking English. Some examples: uber Londinium Londres Tres I do it sometimes - i must stop as it ends in me annoying myself
Do people actually do that on purpose? I sometimes slip up but id never do it on purpose in serious conversation, unless it was just a commonly used borrowed word...but not random ones like them...i mean why?
People who say "duck tape" when they mean "duct tape" (unless they are referring to the specific brand named "duck tape") http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duct_tape#Etymology
I see your gaffer tape and raise you a double-sided sticky tape! (Does that actually exist? I think it was invented by Blue Peter, I've never actually seen it in real life )
I've never seen it either. In my day Blue Peter talked about "sticky-backed plastic" as they weren't allowed to say "Sellotape" or any other brand name. I've heard that in Australia Sellotape is a brand of condoms. Or was it Durex was a brand of tape? One or the other anyway.
Double sided sticky tape?? Of course it exists!!! It's pretty amazing stuff! We once used it to stick the paint chips back on the wall before we moved out!
It exists. They put it on the roll so the top side has a strip of paper over it, to preserve stickiness. You stick the other end to one object, then peel the protective paper off the other side and stick the other object on.
i cant believe i spelt it wrong...i do know the real spelling...honest If it redeems me - I have a role of double sided sticky tape in my room and i do pronounce it duc-t tape rather than duck Another pet peeve is the use of the word "Banter". "Lets meet up for some banter" "Ah its all good banter" ARGH I dont like a lot of things
