There was a place in Ohio that was a bar and a shooting range combined... It didn't last long.

I have my permit but don't carry it very often. Back in my M/C days I was never without it. In my opinion if you are carrying a gun you need to be ready to kill someone, I'm not that person anymore and I don't want to be the person anymore.

Who's to say who is mentally stable or unstable. Just the other day someone who was very trained snapped.

MIAMI — An argument over texting at the movies ended in a cellphone user’s death on Monday afternoon when a retired police officer in the audience shot him at a theater near Tampa, Fla., the authorities said.

The law here is the same as driving. You can carry your weapon as long as your not over the .08 limit. Once you hit .08 your permit is no longer valid and its against the law to carry. Still not a great idea to carry at all when you've been drinking.

    That's a TERRIBLE idea.

Agreed. That's why I'm not sure if I'll ever carry. I know that if you pull a gun on someone you have to be prepared to kill them. I'm not a violent person at all and try to avoid things like that at all costs. It would be a life or death situation before I would EVER point a gun at someone.

Although texting in a movie theater is a pretty good excuse to snap......(sarcasm)

if i was going to carry some kind of equalizer/force, i'd want to carry something much stranger looking then any kind of gun. i'd want to carry something so strange looking no one would recognize it as being any kind of a weapon at all. but something you could use it without being likely to kill anyone, in case you had to actually demonstrate that you could use and that it would actually do something.

i guess i'm just wierd that way. mostly i like weird on general principals. not all weird all the time. but the good kind of strangeness.

Like a taser? There are only certain weapons you can carry with a permit to carry. It doesn't have to be a gun necessarily.

I never leave the house with out it. Though I never carry it on me unless certain places. I never leave it in the vehicle, That's how criminals obtain firearms.
If I do have to run a few places that I know has more fire power and can 'cover' me in the chance the elevator quits going to the top, Ill leave it with my dad. If I have to go to many places, I carry.
I don't 'open' carry either, I have a IWB holster that is perfect. I carry a full size 9mm with 147 grain hollow points. Yeah a 'compact' would be better, But I know this certain gun and have had work done to it and its dialed it.

I want nothing to do with any altercations what so ever armed or un armed. But I will not go down from lack of shooting back! If my family cant escape the area or to a safe corner, Ill already have a shot at the shooter, Still concealed. If there is another in the crowd that has a firearm, Multiple gun(s) in a crowd, Who's the shooter?
If I cant leave, Im gonna make it so you will not leave the area. But, multiple shots are easy to hear the origin. If its far off, Im not going to it, But say a close area like a theater or im in that 'area' where I can see and hear, Im going for the kill to save as many I can from said crazy.
Just because I have it does not mean im looking to kill someone, Im looking to cover my own ass and families and anyone else I can. But I live in an area that's not as bad or too populated like other places that have had shootings.

100% agree. Having said that, I have never lived anywhere where carrying a gun was considered normal. New Zealand police also do not normally carry guns.

We don't need a permit to carry, so I do so when I feel the need. I don't carry nearly as often as I used to. When I do, I'm absolutely prepared to kill, if necessary.

I never felt the need to carry until lately. We can conceal carry and open carry here.

When I was growing up everybody had gun racks in the back glass of thier truck and nobody ever locked them up or even pulled the keys out of the ignition. We don't live in that world anymore.
I have just recently bought a new 45 and have all intentions of getting my conceal carry real soon. In just the last two years some one has dumped a body within two miles of my house and I am not going to be a willing victim.

On a funny note I did Spot light the Assistant District Attorney just at sundown and asked it what the hell he thought he was doing out here at night shinning a flashlight all around the place. That was when he told me who he was and said since I didn't miss to much wanted out here if I had seen any carpeting laying around? They were looking for it from the last body that had been dumped.

So you’d prefer falling on the sword rather than putting a bullet in the head.

Ok but it sounds painful [IMG]

Ok, but a sword is not as much fun when you’re barricaded in the house and the swat team is moving in on all sides [IMG]
