I'm taking a concealed weapons class today. Within a week I could be a gun toting hooligan. I have no intention on actually carrying a concealed weapon on a daily basis. I wont be packing heat when I go to the grocery store or anything. My dad knows a guy that offered to give a free class at my house so my dad and husband wanted me to take it. I'll have 15 people here today taking it. You can bet I was picky on who I invited. I don't think just anybody should be allowed to carry a gun. Does anybody else have their permit to carry and how often do you carry a gun?
I signed some kind of sanity endorsement recommendation so my neighbor could legally purchase a handgun ( New Jersey) He later shot himself through the head. It produced a lot of guilt and unhappiness.
What is that? Was the person already unstable before they wanted to buy a gun? I've never heard of anything like that. Their actions weren't your fault.
lol right one. i actually have my coat of arms waiting to be used when the need arrives. and no im not trolling
Lol.. how was that a dislike-worthy post? I have a potato gun, I got it in a christmas cracker.. not sure it counts towards this thread, but it's fun when I want to torment my little bro from afar Edit: Not so far really, about 3m max.. but it's still fun
I have had mine for awhile. No reason to have it if you are not going to carry and have a fighting chance at nut jobs. The grocery store and big places is where you need it, Not at home etc. You don't need it for fun factor or anything else, Just protection for you and loved ones. If a fuck tard goes off his rocker put three center mass. Its just like my American express, never leave home without it!
Remember folks, while it's legal to carry concealed with permit, it's illegal to possess a weapon while intoxicated so if you are going to the bar, prolly better leave your gun at home... Oh wait thats where the nut-cases hang out? tough luck
Oh right...in your country you can't even have a pocket knife with a blade over 2 inches. Where I live a 4 inch blade isn't even considered a weapon and a concealed weapon permit is only required in city limits. :cowboy:
my dad always has his gun on him where ever he goes he took the class and so did my sister and brother in law
I'm officially certified. Now I just have to make a trip to the sheriffs office to get the background check. I don't know why I continue to attend classes with my dad. He makes them run over by at least an hour. Note to self...Don't invite my dad to any more classes. It was a fun class. I'm happy to say that I already knew about 90% of the stuff that was taught but I paid very close attention to everything he said. I understand that carrying a gun isn't anything to be taken lightly. If I do decide to carry I'll have to buy a different gun. None of the guns I currently own would be good ones to carry on me. Either too big or now powerful enough. I had a group of friends and family here today for the class. I've NEVER seen this group of people so quiet and attentive...with the exception of my dad. Everyone was very focused and not cracking stupid jokes like we normally do.
"I don't think everybody should be allowed to carry a gun, but I should be allowed to" I laughed at this mentality, not in a bad way or anything, I just found it funny.
Has anyone watched the episode of it's always sunny in philadelphia where dennis and dee try to buy a gun?
There are some mentally unstable people out there that I don't believe should carry a weapon in public. There are others that I don't think have the proper knowledge of basic handgun safety. There are certain people that would shoot someone for a parking space. No, I don't believe those are the types of people that should be allowed to carry a weapon in public. I've been trained on how to handle a shoot a handgun starting at the age of 6. I've been shooting most of my life and know proper gun safety. Like I said, I may never actually carry one. I don't usually feel like I am in danger and I know enough to know that a gun can escalate a situation and make it far worse than what it would have been normally. I'm not one of those people that wanted a permit to carry so I can put a gun on my hip and walk around showing it off to look tough. IF I ever choose to carry nobody would know. I would have it concealed. Legally, in my state, you don't have to have it concealed. You can go to the grocery store with it in a holster on your hip for everyone to see. Is that a good idea? No, I don't think so. It could create unwanted attention and hysteria.
