oh, yeah. absolutely. i'd never see healthiness in a woman under 15%. though many of the competitive women i met would get as low as 10% and get dehydrated before a competition. there were those who'd go for less and just looked withered.
Well I just found an online calculator and plugged in my numbers... I'm overweight by 1.8 pounds, my BMI is 25.2 and my Body fat percentage is 11.2.
the worst program in the world will yield better results if you stick to it vs having the best program in the world and not following it. if you need to lose weight, you're gonna have to be in a calorie deficit. no way around that. make sure you have enough protein in your diet to sustain what LBM you have and limit the loss of it - fat does not turn into muscle - then you can fiddle around with your carb intake. make sure your getting EFA (essential fatty acids) like fish oil and other healthy fats from olive oil and such. i wouldn't be too worried if ya get some saturated fats in you every now and then. plenty of ways to manipulate your carb intake. despite what most fitness guros have been spouting off...steady state cardio works...so does HIIT (high intensity interval training). SS cardio is not going to make you fat. so both protocols work, in the correct context when they should be used. you're not going to have the energy to sustain HIIT type training 3-4x per week while lifting in the gym and on a deficit. so both work, figure out what you're training for, pay attention to the program you are using, and pay attention to your recovery. i'm giving myself roughly 1 year to diet down to a respectable BF% and see my abs
subtracting the 10 pounds my breasts weigh...i'm still overweight. *snicker* I KNOW ALREADY! i'm at 29.1
