What we do and consume affects us at a cellular level; some people are more or less sensitive - People with cancer typically have more acid Ph levels before cancer. There seems to be some merit to keeping your blood more alkaline. Sometimes bad things happen for no reason, but in most cases, maintaining a healthier lifestyle offers some protection. There is significant evidence diet and lifestyle has an impact on preventing and managing cancer: http://www.cancerproject.org/diet_cancer/facts/factors.php http://library.wur.nl/wda/dissertations/dis4233.pdf#page=83 http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-98-028.html http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16076700 http://health.blogatize.net/diet-and-lifestyle-prevent-cancer-heart-disease-and-dementia/ You made this thread about how people who avoid some carcinogens are stupid. That's pretty angry, and it certainly doesn't imply you think they're right.
I don't smoke, exercise, and eat healthy. Any more attention to my health than that seems extravagant.
I thought of a better response for this. comparing inhaling poisonous gasses from use of chemical spray is not even close compared to eating some chicken. both can cause cancer but inhaling chemical spray is way way way worse. that is like comparing a guy who got punched in the face once to a guy who got brutally jumped by a group of 5 gangsters and got his face stomped in and is healing in the hospital. but hey if I got payed and I live near you I would help out. but I would wear a face mask though I am very careful about avoiding cancer but I still eat a good amount of fast food and chicken and junk food n stuff. just today I did something stupid again though. I poured a fat bag of cat litter in the poop box and it caused a fat cloud of dust to fill up the bathroom and I inhaled a bunch of cat litter cloud dust and that kind is the anti odor kind so I probably inhaled a crap load of chemcials. next time I am gonna take that thing outside and use a cup to scoop it out rather than pour it in so I do not inhale a fat cloud. i never said anyone is stupid i'll help you out and explain so you can understand. I am saying that going to some crazy means to avoiding cancer is a lot work and seems like a very limted life and in my opinion that is not worth it. so I am saying personally for me that is a lot of work and my random thought personally is that I do not wanna put in all that work and I do not find it worth it. ok I I I I I. I am talking about myself. so I am saying I will continue to eat chicken and eat doritos and lay chips and stuff and not care. so again how is talking about how I eat chicken and lay chips calling you stupid???? I am sorry I am not trying to offend anyone. peace out and have a nice day ok and I am glad you beat cancer.
The problem is the people who make it everyone's business. You are taking a post from a stranger on the internet far too personally. By telling someone to stop being angry about someone's lifestyle choices, aren't you telling him how he should live? Great on you for taking cancer by the balls and taking measures to keep it from getting worse, but I think he was referring to people who don't have cancer and no offense was meant. I completely agree with you, by the way, Rugor, I choose to eat what I like and to hell with the consequences. My grandma has emphysema. Never smoked a cigarette in her life. I try to eat somewhat balanced, but I've seen plenty of old people come through my work, and I figure with the dietary restrictions they have at their age, if I make it that long, I want to enjoy myself and my unhealthy foods as long as I can. If someone else doesn't like that, well, that's just fine, it's my body and my choice.
I don't eat healthy because I am afraid of cancer... I care about what I eat because I feel better, have more energy, ect. Generally it is also better for the environment to live a healthy lifestyle, such as not supporting things that poison the earth, and I care way more about that than I do about my own health.
it seems like everything causes cancer nowadays...... i see all kinds of reports all the time about how 'some-thing' causes shit-tons of cancer...... thinking too much causes ulcers too...
yeah i used to be like fukk datt when it came to tobacco I was like I will NEVER smoke a cig why even try? Now i feel like i give less a fuck and a nice fat cigar is one of the better things in life Yeah i always ate like as much fried shit as i could that was never something i thought twice about lol.
There are a lot of judgments leveled against those who have cancer and a lot of blame from others including society about life style choices. So it naturally comes back to awareness and avoidance. You can not have it both ways. Is someone has cancer it is simply astounding the questions that complete strangers feel entitled to ask and actually expect an answer. When someone is diagnosed the questions and assumptions from others is that they have done something that has left them susceptible to being lucky enough to have the cancer flare. When diagnosed with lung cancer, people had no issue asking about smoking. Funny thing is when I had cervical cancer not one person asked me if I still had sex. So when "people" take responsibility or are aware of what they are doing before they have a diagnosis that is not palatable you also find that people are very judgmental and quick to label them as not living and instead being fearful of ingesting "things" or exposure they should not be concerned about. Lost in the arguments is the simple issue that we should all be more aware of our general health. That is everything from consumption to exposure to preventive and general physical fitness.
you say this now, until you get cancer yourself. be healthy regardless. i've quit smoking and i feel great.
