This is annoying to me, just say you wanna get off the phone or w/e. Calling me tomorrow doesn't count as calling me back so don't say "let me call you back", when you really wanna get off the phone, or w/e. [IMG]

It's like why did they bother picking up in the first place?
I generally always call back because I never answer my phone because most of the time I don't want to talk to anyone that's calling me.

I hate talking on the phone and generally don't talk to anyone except my clients at work. They have a very specific reason for calling so I don't get roped into mindless chit chat. All of my friends and family know to text me unless its really important. If I'm on the phone and I don't want to be I just say "I'm gonna go. Bye"

I prefer emails. I change my ring tones constantly on my phone and near driven to throw the thing at the wall most days. Give me an email so I don't have to read it straight away. I love emails. =] no noises for that shit.

Sometimes i was the receiver of the call and then they use that line to exit the conversation.

I also think that when people don't answer their phones is also annoying.

Y don't they just do this, instead of ignoring the phone completely?

sometimes people are not home or their hands are busy with a vacuum cleaner or something and don't hear the phone....Ihave one friend that calls me and I can never get off the phone with her. I say I have to jog dogs now and 20 minutes later she is still saying one more thing I need to tell you....so what does a person do...just hang up in that situation? I don't....I say a few more times...gotta go out before it gets dark out there....so there is that, too.....

Better yet, get off the damn phone and interact with people in your general vicinity.

I try not to talk on the phone for very long. I try not to be rude but sometimes I'll find a good moment to say "Well...hey...it was great talking to you but I have to (do whatever)"

My grandpa is the all-time king of getting off the phone. I call him just to talk because he is 85. If I call during a baseball game it will be a short call. Like....me: Hey grandpa! How's it going?" Him: Oh, not too bad. Just watching the ballgame. Me: Just thought I'd call to say hi. Him: Well, thanks for calling. Call anytime. Me: Ok....I'll see you this weekend. Him: Ok...bye now.

That conversation has happened countless times.

I don't think I know anyone who talks on the phone anymore. I may have inadvertently gotten my phone talkers into texting (familial types) and now I really miss it. I do know 2-3 people (grandparents, not parents or other relatives) who still talk on the phone.

I will admit that I find it really annoying when people aren't honest though...I'd rather a really radical lie than a completely pointless one... "I'm tired, I gotta go," it doesn't hurt anyone.

You know what question when someone texts me it really makes me think "ugh... gahhh, do I have to???!" (part of the reason is I just HATE talking on phone... other reason is, I'm always with a toddler who's really annoying if I try to be on the phone)....
It's when someone texts with "Can you call me?"
    Just like...."um, why?"

AT...no one asks me to call anymore unless they want to talk to the kids...just wait until your toddler gets older...it doesn't get any better! (speaking as a mom and a former nanny)

Actually, most of the time someone asks me to call them I think "is something wrong? Did someone die?"--- but that's just my brain though. Usually it's just something that would take longer to text. It's been happening A LOT lately though. Family members....an old friend I've been in contact w recently...

Ha, Cason already loves to talk on the phone. Annoyingly enough though I cannot talk to my hubby on phone (ONLY person I don't mind talking to on phone) without Cason being like "let me talk, let me talk" and then HE has to hang up. And he wants to dial... smh.

Anyways... in what way do you mean about when the kids are older? In a good way? Lol!

Yes, your kids will talk for you, they'll say everything you need to say to your parents, grandparents, whatever...but they might also make things a little awkward (they really like emojis or mispelling texts or just saying things wrong) but it'll be cute.

It's just that if you want to have a real private or serious convo with someone you'll have to seriously prioritize that time away from the kids.
