I'm pretty sure everyone (or almost) agrees that it's bad to mislead people into taking something. I think that's pretty much the point of the thread. I and many others agree with your love of LSD. I think the problem is coming into a forum on synthetic drugs and saying: In general, most here don't have a problem with people obtaining, using, or providing synthetic drugs that aren't LSD as long as they know what they are getting into. Many love them as much or almost as much as you love LSD. Although I personally think the longer history of LSD use out weighs this, some might even consider it safer to get something produced legally rather than something produced illegally.
I think thats part of the problem, there is no deep research for many RC's. And you also have to understand that most of the kids buying them from people dont have a fucking clue what they are doing. Anyone can order them, so suddenly you have groups of people with no clue how to handle themselves with access to extremely powerful chemicals. there was a guy in my area ordering phenazepam (or some kind of benzo, he called it "pure klonopin powder") and giving people pinky dips. 4 ended up in the hospital in 3 day blackouts. 2 ended up in jail, 1 broke his hand after punching a brick wall, and one just went nuts and had to be put on a bunch of medications which completely changed his personality. The son of a bitch even put some in a beer, gave it to me and got me a driving after consuming charge because I got pulled over during my blackout. So why is this a reason to hate RC's? Because assholes can order them and fuck people over. If someone says here, take 15 milligrams of xanax duhr hur, you know thats way too much (without a tolerance). But here, take a pinky dip of this xanax powder...hmm, alright I trust you enough that this tiny amount of powder is not going to put me in a week long blackout First time I ever tried 2ci, bought some in a capsule, it was a tiny amount and so I figured id have to snort it to feel any effects. blew it down as soon as i got to the car. figuring there would be time to drive 10 minutes back home to trip, i started cruising and 2 minutes later had to pull over and was more fucked up then anything I had ever done before. The girl I was doing it with didn't handle it nearly as well, freaked out and swore off drugs forever after that. Should we have gotten a milligram scale, done more research and properly dosed? Sure, but thats not what most people do. This is why I say keep it to yourself. 1) in many cases, you have to tell people its something different so they don't feel sketched about buying it. 2) people react negatively/differently at very small changes in dose. There isn't a whole lot of research on RC's, and your average person has no idea what to expect. Your average person doesn't have access to a milligram scale. This is why drugs are illegal in the first place, because most people arent going to do the "deep research", and I would bet money that anyone who has died from "mdma" or "lsd" overdoses in the past 10 years actually died on a research chemical. Its a lot rarer for someone young and stupid to have access to real drugs, but anyone young and stupid can order shit online.
I can totally understand why someone who would snort 2ci and drive, especially based on eyeballing it, wouldn't like RCs. I think the girl you shared it with is wise to swear off drugs if that is the way you introduced her to 2ci. I also can see why you would think drugs should be illegal when you drink beer with people who slip you benzos. I think that it should be illegal to slip someone drugs (which it is), and that there should be more education out there for people stupid enough to snort 2ci and drive (which this forum is.) Next time you take LSD, you should think about your reckless past and the type of people you hang out with, and when you are done you should work on changing that. If someone poisoned me with drain cleaner, I wouldn't think it should be illegal. And even though you apparently have access to LSD and also like to drive on psychedelics, that doesn't make me think LSD should be illegal. I do agree that the situation with you and your friends is very alarming.
The same people that refuse to educated themselves on RC's are more than likely the same people that don't educated themselves on 'real' psyches and only know of myths and propaganda. These people can and do abuse LSD, Mushrooms, what have you and freak the fuck out, develop mental issues, hurt themselves, ect. Yes, there is more (government) medical research done on older psychedelics and like LSD and MDMA, all the phens and trypts (by the hands of Shulgin) are synthed from natural sources and under a very educated, scruitizing eye. But also like MDMA and to a lesser extent (I would think, anyway), LSD some of these chems can and are made in shotty labs or worse, someone's home. My point is extensive medical research or not a lot of RC's are pretty safe because they are made with things that have been used on humans in some way or another. Some ARE NOT, however which is where research comes into play. Don't put down RC's when it's the idiots fault that didn't do a little reading and ended up doing stupid shit in the same way they would on any other psychedelic.
tripstacy, seems like the issue is the assholes that buy and redistribute RCs dangerously. to clarify - the issue is the ASSHOLE, not the RC. they sound like the same type of people who would sell cut molly, or bunk doses. if you had researched 2ci, even just a little, before deciding to snort some small amount, you would have known; 1) it is a very potent drug, that is active orally, so NO, you didn't need to snort it 2) if you do decide to snort it, you will likely be tripping face within minutes, and that NO, you shouldn't rail an unknown amount of powder as soon as you get to the car. (at least you pulled over) i agree that people should "keep it to themselves," as in not sell RCs if they can't weigh out their customer a proper dose and educate them about the effects, or at least attempt to do those things. and i'm talking about selling a certain RC as that RC - shouldn't do it if you can't do it responsibly. obviously, people should never misrepresent one drug as another, and that is not specific to RCs. i don't think tripstacy ever meant "keep it to yourself" as "don't talk about RCs," i think he meant "don't re-sell them"
If you're interested in learning about RC's there's a wealth of information and experiences is this forum, several other forums, erowid, PiHKAL, TiHKAL... the list goes on. There's is quite a lot of information out there, and more being gathered all the time by independent researchers and avid users. Every trip report is adding to the wealth of knowledge available about the effects of a substance. Before you try any drug you should do this kind of research to know what you're getting yourself into. Psychedelic drugs are nothing to fuck around with. The problem that you've encountered is that people are selling drugs without being completely honest about what they are. THAT is dangerous, with any kind of drug. RC's are not inherently dangerous because they are legal. People do dangerous things with them because they are stupid.
to be fair, after doing my research for several years, i think 2ct7 (or any 2cx) is more dangerous to take than LSD
The stories ive shared here are all from years past when I was just starting to get into drugs and research chems were just starting to be introduced in a more widespread manner. For the record, Im no longer in touch with any of the people involved with these things. I took that 2c-1 when I was 17, young, immature and naive enough to be excited at the prospect of "exactly like a little lsd and a little molly combined!" Drugs can be dangerous, and a lot of shitty people like drugs. Its easy for someone just starting out to fall in with the wrong crowd and get fucked over. This is the point I'm trying to make. RC's can very easily be dangerous and its too easy for young, immature people (and there tend to me a lot more greedy assholes in this demographic) who have just started experimenting to get ahold of them. I'm just one person, and my past experiences could have happened to anyone. So easily, in fact, that they HAVE to have happened to others. This is why I say consider the broader perspective This, exactly. The problem is people misrepresenting things, and that is very much specific to RC's. I dont know of anyone who sells coke as molly, or heroin as anything besides heroin. But RC's? Almost always. Noone wants mdpv but tell em its molly and they are all over it. This is getting worse and worse at shows and festivals. Ive said this before but I think it needs clarification: I am not against people using RC's themselves. Its always said that it only takes a couple assholes to ruin things for everyone else. That is definitely the case with RC's. Fact is, assholes have made it so I would rather them be illegal then have a bunch of greedy little fucks running around selling fake shit and dosing people with too much for laughs
i guess there aren't THAT many cases where one drug is sold as another, outside of research chemicals. but what about coke, that is actually crushed up painkillers with a numbing agent? i'm sure that can happen. not to mention coke is cut with SOMETHING ~99% of the time. and no one ever says "hey, wanna do a line of coke + baby powder?" so on some level that is misrepresentation. how about blank blotter paper that is misrepresented as LSD? i think it's just as easy to get ripped off with blank doses as it would be to get DOx instead of LSD. yeah, at least DOx would provide some effects, and maybe fool some people into thinking they got LSD, but either way, the person is gonna ruin their reputation
You will always have a problem with crooked dealers especially street pushers. You have to really trust who you get your stuff from. If it is someone new get to know them and his rep. If you get a bad vide from someone STAY AWAY. This is all common sense. I am sure every bunk thing that aquired was from an untrusted source. I know the fake LSD I got was thru a friend that went thru some sketchy dude.
I think the thing to be realized here is that there are serious issues with drugs and drug sale/use. There always will be. No matter what drugs exist at any point in time, there will be stupid people around to make them more dangerous than they inherently are. There are also plenty of good drug dealers who help to reduce the danger of taking the drug. A bad drug dealer will make any and every drug that he sells more dangerous than it should be, it doesn't matter if the drug is new or old, legal or illegal. Drugs are widely available almost everywhere. Legality really has a very small role in availability. My point is that advocating illegality is never the right way to go about reducing harm. No amount of legislation will effectively reduce the amount of drugs available, and making drugs illegal only promotes black market sale, which is almost always more dangerous than legal sale for exactly the reasons why you don't like rc's. As they are now, there's at least a safe and reliable means of procuring these legal rc's so that you know exactly what you're getting. If it were illegal it would still be just as present, but there would be even more chance of people misrepresenting it because the entire process would be handled by black market parties, not people who care very much about providing a quality product.
^yes. It seems like the sale of RCs has reached some kind of critical point where things are starting to crumble. It seems more closely tied to them being easily available to some people who wouldn't normally even know what they were. I think it's a direct result of the cannabinoids and speed RCs attracting more people than psychedelics do, and because many more vendors are popping up and getting more and more bold. I personally haven't seen the problems of misrepresentation, but may soon as summer approaches. I do think that coke and heroin are often adulterated, and that this often leads to trouble. Levamisole is supposed to be very common: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/cocaine/cocaine_article2.shtml Also heroin: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18501476 I wouldn't eat mushroom chocolates unless I knew who made them, and I wouldn't take blotters unless they are .25" square and someone has confirmed they don't have a taste. (I have generally taken the word of the seller on taste...but they know I'll find out fast, so no one has lied yet.) This has always been my policy. I may lose out on some nice chocolate or some LSD that has weird tasting ink on the paper, but I don't mind. (There are people selling hash oil and keef recently at shows, and I am very suspicious of those too, since it would be easy to whip that up with whatever JWH happens to be legal at the time.) But, I still don't see why that means no one should be able to use or share RCs. And as it's clearly stated above, making more things illegal would probably make RCs more dangerous for those who are careful and knowledgeable.
