Seriously, what's the difference between sandals and going barefoot? Sandals have these plastic or styrofoam pieces between the earth and your foot. Why not cut out the middle man and get rid of the "protection" ? (sorry, but if you're going to step on something sharp, it's going to go through a little piece of cardboard or styrofoam, too.)

Why is it so shocking to see people barefoot, you think? I don't find it shocking at all...but I'm a barefooter, so what do I know? LOL

Maybe we could go back to the spirit of this thread as set up by DancerAnnie above.

Personally, I love being barefoot. It makes me happy. I wish everyone felt the same way. Unfortunately they don't. I don't understand it. We all try to influence our little microcosms. In the end, the whole Barefoot Forum is an opportunity to share our thoughts, our experiences, our successes, and our frustrations.
