I don't think I've been that good of a person in the past. I have a lot I'm trying to atone for. I'm off to a start now I guess.
It visually says more than I could ever convey to you with language. (Just think about "its" meaning) hint: it has something to do with the fact there's a lotus and a ying yang
I dont really expect anything out of anyone else. I don't hold them to a moral standard, it isn't really my place to do that.
I'm not saying I'd be cool with anything that they decide to do. I'm just saying I don't have any pre-determined expectations of how I think they should/will act.
Isn't not attacking you a pre-determined expectation though? A basic social contract between people living in society?
I know we are all innocent when we come into the world. I like to believe most people are good. But I have seen a hell of lot of evil in people. Yes you can use that good/evil are just judgements crap. But have you ever seen someone get murdered? This is not directed at anyone in particular. Just spreading some sunshine.
No but I do believe you would expect me not to attack you. Or you would if I were a real person and not a spam bot.
I believe that anyone with a so called "normally" functioning brain has the capacity for empathy, however this is something that has to be both taught and chosen and can easily be discarded in the mindless "MTV and bling" culture as lode puts it....or for a multitude of other cultural reasons...ie. classic male chauvinism, greed or lust for money, cool to be a bitch syndrome, mindless obedience to a higher power (like the nazi party or the American government J/K) etc. Empathy is supposedly the product of suffering but it should also be noted that mindlessness, selfishness and fear are also products of suffering and I agree with lode that a person should be "healed" before their experiences translate to some sort of goodness. Again this goodness is something that must be chosen. As for the word good, thats subjective I guess.
I am pretty sure that what I just wrote was pseudo-intellectual but I am really tired right now so screw you.
I think some people are fundamentally good, and some people are fundamentally selfish I also think there are truly evil people out there, but only maybe 60-70 per generation.
