"The Alchemist" sucked. I'm currently reading "Veronika Decides to Die". So far, I dislike that he wrote himself into his own book in the beginning. What he wanted to say could have easily been said in an introduction. But I have hope.
I've read a couple of Cohelo books, but never had the urge to read The Alchemist. This thread is not encouraging me to pick it up
I loved it the first time I read it (I was 13). The second time I re-read parts of it for school a year ago, I was really "WTF!".
I liked The Devil and Miss Prym, for the fairy-tale quality. Eleven Minutes was a bit of a wank though
I'm an avid reader, have been since a young age. I put every book mentioned in this thread down, except The Devil and Miss Prym, haha.
Does, you should read 100 Years of Solitude by Marquez - if you haven't already - one of my favourites of all time
