Just got back. WOW! 2 hours 45 minutes non stop, I think I counted 17 tractor trailers waiting to load after the show. The stage must of had 40 foot tall screens on either side and at least a 20 foot one in the back. Plus a screen on one piano. I really can't remember all the songs he did but he started with a couple old Beatles hits, before Sgt. Pepper, can't recall which ones. He played his base on three or four songs then switched to a grand piano, then to an electric guitar. He mixed it up with some form the 80's, Wings, pre Sgt. Pepper, post Sgt. Pepper and even the first song he ever sold recorded while the Beatles were known as The Quarry Men. He played a George Harrison song on a ukulele that George had given him. I think it was Something, then segued into a full electric version. He also did solos and other songs on an acoustical guitar He played a song he wrote about John Lennon, one dedicated to his currant wife, and one to Linda, his first wife. He did Fool On the Hill, Lady Madonna, A Hard Days Night, Here There Everywhere, 1985, Love Me Do, Blackbird (which was about U.S. civil rights, I never new that), ObLa-Di Ob La Da, For the Benefit of Mr. Kite, etc. etc. He told of seeing Jimi Hendrix two days after Sgt. Pepper was released. He was in the audience and Jimi did a song from Sgt. Pepper and threw his guitar out of tune so none of the Beatles would look at him because they were afraid he'd want them to come on stage to tune it for him. Al the time there were lasers, abstract 3D Yellow Submarine type cartoons and photos of the Beatles on the screen, spot lights, strobes, and smoke. Near the end he did Live and Let Die with lasers going, flashing lights, smoke bombs, tubes shooting flames into the air...and an extended fireworks display in the sky behind the stage. It was outside btw. He did a four song encore invited two people up onto the stage and finished with another fireworks display and confetti shooting into the air. Very good concert, one of the best...and I've seen a few. Too bad you missed it! Next: Joe Walsh.
