I don't think I'll ever get over loving the scent of patchouli...I wear it almost all the time... :)

It's great! I don't think it's the essence of a dirty hippie at all. Lush carries a line of awesome patchouli scented soaps that are a little more subtle when you wear it on your skin. Love it.

The Lush soap that I am talking about is called Karma.

Patchouli : the heavenly scent of days gone by only to be reincarnated and alive again?

    You be the judge. :)

i'd rather just take a shower with good old Dr. Bronner's pure castille and hemp soap.

Patchouli is awesome. I have always liked the smell, I have a bar of patchouli scented soap I use occassionally. Haven't worn the oil in ages...I should buy some actually. It's my second favorite incense too. (Nag Champa is the first.)

I used to love patchouli. Not anymore... I don't like it now; not sure why. I think I could get back into it though, but lately when I smell it, which is seldom, it doesn't bring around the right kind of memory. Probably because I was a really big poser when I was being a hippie. That, and nag champa. They don't do it for me anymore. And I used to wear patchouli and burn nag champa; though not at the same time.

  14. Still love it even after 50 years of wearing it!

I used to wear it straight, daily. Applies at the base of my scalp/neck hairline. A teeeeeeny drop.
Now it’s in a blend I created as my personal scent that says woods more than Shakedown.

A little bit goes a long way! No substitute for bathing.
