I think I'm a "ball-striker". I don't really step heel first. I also do both, but never really heel first.
I also want to find out how you get around any "no shirt no shoes" policy?[/QUOTE] That is easy - move to New Zealand, I have never had an issue with going anywhere in bare feet, and only rarely is a bare chest a problem. Right now I am sitting on the Interisland ferry, wearing nothing more than a pair of jeans and no-one is concerned at all.
If your feet hurt, slow down, if you step on something that hurts, before you put that part of your foot down again, you must look at the botton and pull anything sharp strait off, without a dusting motion. If it hurts, slow down. If someone wants you to go faster or do something that you know will hurt, don't listen to the "this is why you should wear shoes" bullshit, more like that person doesn't care about you very much.... because it's them that's endangering your feet, not your lack of shoes. As for looks, if you're used to it, why are you asking? Just like dreadlocks, not wearing shoes can teach you how to ignore what people think of you, and how to win people over in their opinion of you. Sandburs really suck, but once you get some callus, you won't come to any perminant damage if you IMMEDIATLY take them out, as I stated at the start of this post. Obviously, don't walk through the little fuckers, though. And yes, you have to keep an eye out for snakes, but if you normally wear flipflops, it's the same.... why are you going barefoot at times you should be wearing boots? So, what are you waiting for?
