Hello everyone. Today's lesson is about threading your machine. The pictures are kind of blurry because my camera wouldn't cooperate, so please feel free to ask questions if something isn't clear enough!

Threading is a two step process. First I will show you how to thread the bobbin that goes into the machine.

First you will need to wind the thread onto the bobbin...you can do this using the machine.

Start threading the bobbin yourself a bit just to make it stay..use the normal thread that you would stick on the top of the machine.
Make sure the thread is coming over the top of the bobbin.
    Switch to "wind" from "sew".

On your wheel, push in the little switch, if possible. (This keeps the needle from going so the only thing moving is the bobbin winder)

Once you have filled the bobbin, cut it off the main thread and place it into the hole it fits into inside the machine (you will have to slide/flip the plate out..this may vary from machine to machine).
The thread should be coming from the botton pointing clockwise.
Slip the thread under the first divent and up through the second (this secures the thread)

Then take the thread and put it through the small hole under the bottom of the steel plate.

Put steel plate in place and then slide it back in.

Slide other plate that covers the actual bobbin back into place
    [IMG]

Now we start the outer threading.
The thread should be in the same place as before
    [IMG]

Pull thread through small hole (u can pull it over and it sort of snaps in...no need to actually poke it through like for the needle)
Then take thread over the next piece (step 2) and pull down on little metal loop...this will also "snap" into place so it is coming from underneath (step 3)

Next you need to bring the thread underneath the little post.

    Then through the top post

This part is a bit tricky, don't miss it. There is a little hole to hold the thread down in place. Slide it in.

Thread into the needle front to back

    Pull thread underneath foot

All done!! You are ready to sew! Stay tuned for another lesson :)

Threading the machine is something that is pretty basic, yet a little different on every machine. It is VERY important to refer to your manual when first learning the procedure. If the threading isn’t correct, nothing else will work either. . Put your spool of thread on the spindle on top of the machine
