I have to admit, I like the sound of that! But OK, I'll go back and read the rules and try to comply.

That was not directed to only you. It goes for everyone. If people want an opinion thread about this, then someone can go start one in another area.

Since when have opinions not been allowed in this forum, and if that's the case then how come this rule isn't applied to all the threads in this forum? It seems like some of the mods like to make up their own rules as they go along. So can you please refer us to the very specific guidelines for this forum which prohibit discussion of news articles?

France borders have been closed. All the planes in route will have to land elsewhere.

"Hollande cancelled plans to attend this weekend’s G20 summit in Turkey and convened a cabinet meeting. In a TV address to the nation, he declared a state of emergency.
“This is a terrible ordeal that again assails us,” he said. “We know where it comes from, who these criminals are, who these terrorists are.”
He said the attackers wanted “to scare us and fill us with dread”. He added: “There is dread, but in the face of this dread, there is a nation that knows how to defend itself, that knows how to mobilise its forces and, once again, will defeat the terrorists.”

The state of emergency would be in force across France, Hollande said, meaning some place might be closed and people searched. He said: “The second decision I have made is to close the borders. We must ensure that no one enters to commit any crimes and that those who have committed the crimes that we have unfortunately seen can also be arrested if they should leave the territory.”

The President of France is pissed.

1.500 extra troops have been deployed to Paris.

“To all those who have seen these awful things, I want to say we are going to lead a war which will be pitiless,” French president Francois Hollande said early Saturday morning after surveying a French theatre in which dozens of concertgoers were murdered by terrorists. http://news.nationalpost.com/news/shootout-at-paris-restaurant-leaves-several-dead-police

ISIS has claimed the Paris attacks.

PARIS — The Islamic State group on Saturday claimed responsibility for a series of terror attacks described by French President Francois Hollande as “an act of war" that killed 127 people.
Putting France's security at its highest level, Hollande vowed to hit back against the militants, who said they carried out the assaults in an online statement, and declared three days of national mourning.
Speaking after an emergency security meeting, Hollande said Friday's attacks were "committed by a terrorist army, the Islamic State group, a jihadist army, against France, against the values that we defend everywhere in the world, against what we are: A free country that means something to the whole planet.”
"France will be pitiless concerning the barbarity of Daesh," he said, using an Arabic acronym for the militants, also known as ISIS or ISIL.http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/11/14/terror-attack-paris/75760842/

The OP wants a narrow focus in this particular thread, so please take the general analysis of the Islam situation to a different thread. There are several recent ones still open.

Last night's temporary restriction was only on passengers wanting to depart France for another country. International connections were not disrupted, and inbound passengers were received.

I wouldn't be surprised if this entire thing is complete bullshit and not a single person is actually dead. Oh....that couldn't possibly be the case, could it? Well.....

Maybe we should let the OP state that himself. I don't see him saying that. There are more opinions and talk about moderate islam/muslims in this thread.

Maybe turn on the tv or something. There is lots of imagery. Also of the dead bodies being carried away. And blood on the streets. And people running out of the theatre. It's not fake.
