It could piss me off if I wasn't so detacted that I just laugh. Which is a good thing... I avoid putting the weight of the world on my shoulders but seriously...we know if the top news stories by the media were switched even partially away from petty bs and to more serious issues maybe people in a massive scale would lose a sense of detachment and true change can occur ... but we all know the true chance of that (ever?) changing are minimal.

And yes, the whole justice system is fucked up. It's all corrupt.. it's life. And I don't even like to think about the Duke fiasco....

The way the jury works here in the US is one of the most idiotic law systems I have ever seen.

Well FOX News, CNN, and MSNBC did cut away briefly today from the Hilton mansion, to cover the secretary of defense news conference announcing the retirement of the joint chief of staff and his possible replacements.

Then returned to live coverage after 75% of americans switched stations to catch the last few minutes of the Jerry Springer show

There are things that merit getting pissed off far more than Paris Hilton. I see what's in the news, I see what our government and military is doing and I see how many politicians build careers on the backs of small time offenders because they want the general population of SHEEPLE to think they are tough on crime.

That people in general allow themselves to suspend reason and common sense enough to go along with this pisses me off- they are a BIG part of the problem. Paris Hilton; Duke Lacrosse, are all just commodities the media uses to inflame disingenuous passion and expend it on something that doesn't matter. People NEED to get pissed off at the government's illegal military action in Iraq- people NEED to get militantly incensed at big businesses' (chiefly big oil) government sanctioned looting of what once was a way of life for middle America- those things matter far more to us than some snotty debutante brat throwing a hissy fit to get her way in a minor crime.

Our collective conscience is wasting time and energy sweating out trivia while our rights as human beings are being auctioned off to the high bidder.

Yep. I really gotta think to myself "smile and nod" sometimes. It's become a philosophy of sorts. Total mind control bs going on to take people away from the things that have real importance in their lives. The only possible way that I can personally forsee to awake the sheeple is just to focus on your own life and the truths you find evident... people may be interested and tune in, they may not. All you can change is yourself and maybe, if you're lucky, inspire those you allow to be close to you but other then that.... won't change the world or else someone would have by now.

(and btw i so much wanna hear more about the many situations in africa but haha.... you gotta dig for that and then what do you really do? no one really cares)
