parents situations

I can relate to some of you ya know. Man my dad doesn't know and he never will either, but mom on the other hand is like totally cool with it. Smoking with my mom and her boyfriend is like just smoking with pot heads and I' a heavy one at that. Just the fact that my dad knows I smoke cigs is bad enough. I remember that time very well, my dad called himself an asshole for a week b/c he was the last to know and it freaked me out. But all is good I suppose. Some advice to you youngins who smoke and youe parents don't know, truthfully don't be ashamed that you do what you do, but also not letting alot of people you know that you smoke will help you in the long run believe me. Being smart about it is even more helpful so anyone of ya'll can hit me up for a smoke some time and shhhhhhhhh......I won't tell!!!!

 

I'm currently off pot for a while so I haven't had to worry much lately, I suppose that's one consolation for being off the reefer.

My mother is a very traditional, absolutist Chinese woman, and is extremely set in her views on everything. Not surprisingly, her view on all recreational drugs is that they are all illegal and therefore very bad. She's not the type who gives those "big talks," it's more rather the "big command," so drugs is one of those issues that I really have never talked to her about. Debating with her is generally one-sided since she doesn't regard any opinion but her own, and especially not an opinion from a younger person. So heh yeah, I keep pot on the downlow from her. Fortunately, she's also extremely naive, and wouldn't recognize anything as pot-related by herself, even if it blew enough smoke in her face to get her high.

My dad's rather ambivelent on drugs, he's a social sciences professor from the ivory tower. He did attend college at Berkeley in the late Sixties, so I like to think that must mean something. He's tried pot, but it's apparently the "didn't inhale" story. I've talked to him a few times on drugs, his basic view is "if you're caught, you're screwed"... he'll generally bring up that piece of legislative bullshit known as the Higher Education Act which denies federal aid to any person in higher education with a drug conviction. He's somewhat liberal on drinking, but he believes the drug war is justified. He's told me that it's his understanding that marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol because there is no "stopping point" where you can't get any more intoxicated, and can thus lend itself to harmful binges more. I never did bother to correct him, because that would raise suspicions over why I know so much about drugs. I think he suspects that I smoke pot, but I've been discreet enough that thus far it hasn't concerned him enough to make an issue out of it.

 

My parents found out that I did couple of months ago, so i have to be secret about it and its worked so far.:H

If your parents really cared about you they wouldnt do that sort of thing.

 

Ya no shit! I think they would rather you smoke pot then go over there. I know my parents would.

 

Dude I bet sneaking around has got to suck! I've done it for years from my dad, but my mom on the other hand is like so totally cool about it. Let's just say at least I'm not out doing the other drugs anymore.
