Its being said that now everything is so divided and things are so bad BUT are they really much different then the late '60,s early ''70,s?

    Kent State
'68 riots ( I was there got teargassed)
    JFK assassination
Weatherman Undergound "American left wing terrorist organization"

I could go on but point being people like to romanticize the '60,s peace and love BUT reality is it wasn't all..

Lots of civil unrest and violence

The difference was the protests were, at least in theory, aimed at making a better world and rectifying injustices in the American system, and various other world governments, by promoting truth and transparency.
Even the Weather Underground went to great efforts not hurt anyone when they bombed a building.

Today the opposite seems to happening, Trump and his followers are activity promoting injustice and corruption by deliberately spreading lies and fake news.

The Trumpers don't believe they are trying to make the world better.

They are merely trying to keep what they have; hate, racism, segregation, and more of the same
    .
The only reason they are protesting is to keep their stranglehold grip on the country and to promote division and disharmony to divide and conquer the country.

Yeah, well so did those idiots in Germany during the 40s.
They had a different viewpoint too.

In 1968 we got rid of Lyndon Johnson, who we thought was an awful President, and replaced him with Richard Nixon, who we know was an awful President.

In 2020 we're getting rid of Donald Trump, who we know is a really awful President, and replacing him with Joe Biden. Hope he doesn't disappoint us.

    E-X-A-C-T-L-Y !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why the "Citizens United" decision was one of the worst things to ever happen in the U.S. It puts big money ............ no - HUGE MONEY .......... interests ahead of the interests of the vast majority of Americans' interests. It allows the really HUGE MONEY players to place politicians (by means of so much money for advertising, commercials, etc.) in state and federal positions to get laws passed that benefit THEM - not the country as a whole. As Zen said above - it's the way to consolidate power and influence so that they can keep the riches that they already have ............ and gain even more ............. by keeping a stranglehold on the people, the economy .............. and the country. Why do think THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is always attacking working people in the U.S. by weakening workers' rights protections, writing laws against unions and workers organizing, and workplace safety regulations?????? The very rich ("the powers that be") don't want large numbers of people sticking together and standing up for their rights, for what's fair, for a bigger piece of the economic pie (better pay / better benefits - which have been stagnant or have been disappearing) .............. and VOTING for those BETTER CHANGES for ALL working Americans!!!!!!!!

Haven't their actions and words been enough to convince people???

Many American workers are still today working for pay that was decent pay to raise a family on ............. back in 1980!!!!!!! Even people with multiple technical skill sets (trouble-shooting computer or electrical systems, entering data, placing and activating network hardware, accurate communication skills, etc.) $10 to $15 per hour is terrible pay in 2020. (remember - higher insurance deductibles, higher out-of-pocket expenses for doctors, dentists, eye-care - - higher car insurance, homeowners insurance, 30% increase in food prices, car & truck prices, fuel bills ............) $15 per hour should be the NATIONAL minimum wage ............ and that will be tough to raise families on.

Or maybe you all support the HUGE, $$$$$ multi-BILLIONS in tax breaks for multi-MILLIONAIRES and multi-BILLIONAIRES - and INSANE CEO compensation packages ............... while avg. American workers struggle to keep their noses above water. (worker : if you aren't signing the paychecks, or are in the top 2 to 5 people in your company with fat, untraceable expense accounts ............. you're a worker. Nothing more.)
