not sure what that means, but one thing I do know is that if jesus had a digital camera it would be a nikon.
7 months! I was really surprised at how toight they were today after washing em.. so I made a video! you people ought to start making video updates. it's the way to go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi3Im4QofPE
If you have farmville animal sounds on in the background your video is hilarious with the neighing and the baa's over the music. I love your updates you're adorable and your dreads are so awesome.
lol.. it was a groundation song going on in the background before... I did the audioswap thing because it's fun to put in silly songs on top of it
nice! i saw the groundation thread but didn't bother checking them out. i'm going to now. you're cool.
i live up in the mountains secluded from every one haha.. I literally have not left my house in a week. I am going to New Zealand in December though.
daisy- they both love being outdoors and hate big cities. I expected this from my dad who grew up on a farm, but my mom is from Los Angeles They love it though. fickle- Its not technically a working holiday since I didnt get a work visa. I'll just be doing work exchanges around the country on farms, hostels, and wherever else. So basically I do about 4 hours of work per day and have the rest as free time to explore, and exchange for the work i get a bed to sleep on and all my meals. cheap travel! The longest you can stay without a work visa is 3 months, so if I can obtain a work visa while i'm there I'll try and stay for 6 more months. I saw you are from Brisbane. I have a whole day layover there on my trip back to the states. Are there any places I must see while i'm there?
If NZ is anything like Oz or the UK, you need to be currently in your country of residence to apply for that type of visa. Get to it, or you'll be kicking yourself!
yeah i think you need to be in the us to apply for that visa. it's pretty easy to get though, a couple of my friends have gotten it recently. one guy applied and it was granted a week later or something. so do it! are the exchanges on some sort of program or have you figured it all out yourself? is there any info you can direct me to? i'm not interesed in doing it in nz, but would be very interested in doing it elsewhere. brisbane.. depends what day you're there. if it's saturday or sunday there are some cool markets on in a couple of places. also do you mean you're staying overnight? or you arrive early morning and leave that night? there's really no great 'sights' to see in brisbane, but there are some cool places to just wander around and chill. give me more details and i'll give you the lowdown
I'm just doing a thing where I find my own places to work using www.helpx.net they list for many different countries around the world. Also using WWOOF. I'll be in Brisbane from 8 am til midnight on March 10th which is a Wednesday.
I think i'm already screwed as far as the Work Visa goes. I'd need to show that I have at least NZ$4200 for living expenses, as well as travel arrangements for leaving the country. which means I'd have to cancel my return flight and pay up even more to arrange a new ticket home. 3 months should be plenty though
you can get someone to temporarily transfer money to your account, print a statement then transfer the money back to them. and your current return flight should do. they don't care when the flight is, as long as they know you're leaving the country. but if 3 months works for you then just do what you're doing. just so you know.. a lot of americans find australia and nz pretty expensive. things like food and drink and gas are more expensive. it works itself out if you live there because the minimum wage is much higher, but when you're visiting it might be a bit of a shock. for brisbane i'd recommend getting the airtrain into town then just having a look around either the city, the valley or southbank. all those places are really close together, they're all basically downtown and all of them have one or more train stations. the airtrain probably goes to all of those stations. i have a really good friend who'd probably be down to hang out for a day if you feel like hanging out with someone. she's one of those laid back, get along with anyone types. and she lives right in town so she knows all the cool places. good cafes and restaurants, thrift stores etc. an american friend of mine is leaving on tuesday to spend a year in nz. he has a travel blog here: http://www.backpackingmatt.com/ .. once he gets there his first impressions might be a good resource for you. sorry if this is lots of useless/boring information. i'll be really interested to see how your trip goes/ what you think of the place. i think it's fascinating to hear 'outsiders' impressions of a place.
