What, you can't get laid because you have a huge pustule in your lip?

Real mean would ignore that. Or just put a bag over your head.

you guys were right, i've got MRSA :(
i'm in the hospital. these have been the worst two days ever. and I'll be here a few more days. my infection is spreading into my cheeks even though i'm on antibiotics.
I found the answer to the pain question, though. Dilaudid; 8 times more potent than morphine.
I can feel it wearing off though, i'm gonna be crying in pain again soon. ugh, back to bed for meeeee

oh its horribly painful and nothing to play with.
as i stated earlier in this thread,
we know a kid who got it on his leg and ALMOST died ,,ON HIS LEG! it ate a hole COMPLETELY through his leg. he was in the hospital for over six weeks.

granted he let his go way to long before seeking treatment. thats why i suggested she go ASAP.
hopefully they can get it under control and she will be OK. i just know that tooth infections can kill you,i have to imagine this being so close to her brain cannot be good..

    my thoughts are with her..

Thankfully she's getting care. There is nothing to do but hope she'll get better and get back to us on that. My most heartfelt thoughts are with her.

Thanks so much for thinking about me you guys.
I think I'm going to be alright. They've been giving me IVs of some strong antibiotics and earlier tonight the pustules started leaking, so that is a good sign.
The whole hospital experience in general has been pretty stressful though. it seems like none of the doctors communicate with each other. I've talked to several doctors and they're each telling me opposing things as for what they're going to do to me tomorrow in the OR. It's a fucked system. I hate hospitals.
Alls i know is that if it's still pretty swollen in the morning they're gonna cut me open and get that shit outta there.

I AM SO SICK OF BEING IN A HOSPITAL. what inconvenient timing. my lover and my friends are all in town this weekend and we were supposed to go camping tomorrow. So much for that I guess.

You can just count yourself lucky that it isn't VRSA. The Vanco-resistant staph infections are MUCH worse. I work in a skilled nursing rehab center and there is a guy that's been there for the last three months doing rehab trying to get back home. He went in for an amputation today because the Dr. couldn't get the infection under control. He seemed to be making progress too, but after awhile the drugs didn't seem to be working.
With MRSA, they'll more than likely start you on Vanco IV and discharge you with PO meds. TAKE EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. Just because it looks like the infection is gone, that doesn't mean shit. Take everything they prescribe you and when you're out, head back to the DR. to be sure. Don't fuck around with something like this. On a positive note, we have 4-5 new patients a month that have MRSA. Even the worst cases we see beat it and go home. It's resistant to treatment, not impervious. Hope everything turns out OK.
