Eh, no sweat. So do I. It's going into the opposing teams territory and picking a fight that I don't care for. But since they are too afraid of satan creeping up on them in the Pagan forum....
i have a few thoughts about the subject. first of all you have to understand, that according to my perspective, the majority of christian churches throughout history have been run and controlled by pagans calling themselves christians. i think its thier goal to pervert the church, thereby discrediting the faith, so that people will search to find other meaning in life, or other religions that must be the truth. of course many do find wicca as thier answer. when you get into the heart of wiccan rituals, or deep into your study of them, you will find that they really are satanic rituals intended to insult god. thier organizations i believe are designed to exploit younger, trusting members, to eventually put them into a deeper state of misery, and to tap into darker emotions and actions. that is how i see the the real situation to be. now lets take in to account the ideal situation, that infact, through wicca, you will be able to cast spells. well what exactly would you be doing with these spells. now both I, and im assuming God, believe in free will. God has forbidden sorcery because, if you were to successfully use a spell, you would almost definatley be using it to impose your will, over anothers actions or feelings, thereby taking away that persons free will. now most wiccan spells and rituals that are successful, are nothing more than demon summonings. and the worlds and actions that you use that you dont fully know the meaning of, are a simple invitation for a demon to yuse your body to enter into our world, and use you as a vessel for thier works, although it might apear to you that you are calling up forces to work for you. now you can take for example a president bush exploiting the environment, calling himself a christian, and put two and two together, and say christians suck and are destroying the planet. what you dont realize is that that is not how someone who loves and respects god's creation would act. but due to his ties and conscription into satanic cults, he does these things to further discredit the faith.
Whao, wayfaring, when did you turn into a nut!? Geeze louise!! The mere fact that there are roughly 2 billion believing Christians and only a small handfull of wiccans and such by itself counters your position. My goodness, send that story to Weekly World News. Christian churches have done horrible things throughout the centuries because the people who controlled them were rich, powerful, greedy, and corrupt; not because they were secretly wiccan.
wiccans hold free will very important and we NEVER do a spell on some1 without there permission first.
There are days when you really do question everything. Like when you wake up inthe morning and read the writings of one you have respected, laughed with (not at) and find that he needs to have his little tinfoil hat adjusted... This is one of those mornings. please tell me this is a joke. I had no idea that Warfaring was a closet Bircher...
You are a group of interesting people, that Il give you but debating for the sake of debating is fruitless, in vain and extremly worthless.
I think that a discussion on faith and religion, could manifest itself into a war. I believe, (my own opinion) that everyone needs to have a belief. Whether it be Jesus, Mary, Mohammed or a space ship. Why quibble? Each and every being has the right and freedom to have their own "god" . It's too bad when 'Christianity' brings on a fear of 'bible thumpers. Or 'Wicca' brings visions of devil worship. Neither is accurate. There are 'bible thumpers' from all faiths, there are devil worshipppers. But not to confuse them with the 'Faithful" of a good belief. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble. Love and Blessings, Phoenix
I understand the younger members, being staunch in their beliefs. But... you need to investigate before you speak. Do you remember in the bible that Jesus could not be buried on the Saturday because it was the Sabbath? The Catholic church changed the Sabbath to Sunday, to lure in the Pagans. The Catholic Church also, took the good people of Christian History, and turned them into saints, (christian idols) The Pagans made their necessities from gold, silver, whatever the earth provided for them. The Catholics wanted these ores, because of the $$$$ value. Niece of 3 preachers!!! That's why I did religion investigations. My uncles were preachers, but...all of different religions, and they quarrelled about who's religion was the right one. Love and Blessings, Phoenix
i did not meam to start a argument, i just wanted to know other peoples views. i am sorry if i have started one the reason why i fought back was because it is not true that wiccans are devil worshipers.
You did nothing wrong, Little flower. Ignore the zealots. Stick to the pagan forums, where you will be among friends.

Debating for its own sake is essentially mental exercise. It keeps you sharp, keeps your mind working and it is fun too. Debating is good for you, as long as you don't take it too seriously. Oh, and about Jack Chic, he is neat too if you don't take him seriously. If you look at his stuff like it is a bad joke then he is super neato, like Weekly World News.
well kids i never really do try to preach, or look down on others beliefs. wasnt tryin to call any one a nut, a zealot, a devil worshipper, or worse . . a bircher . . . but if thats what you drew from my words then thats what you get. i do know of the 'old' religion, and i know the two paths it followed throughout history, i know about when they remet. i know who publishes books. if fact, ive even read some books. i even read the bible and started studying wicca and the occult long before i knew what algebra was. i read everything with an open mind, but i wont enter a tunnel before i know whats at the end of that tunnel. in other words, i learned about the two faiths before i started practicing either. i made my choice. im not about to make your choice for you. we do live in the devils world, the same world that rejected me and made me homeless, when i was pennyless, it wasnt anyone short of God who fed me every day. no rhetoric will ever let me forget that one. yall can dismiss my words as you please, ive been known to be wrong before, and ill always be learning. some of the nicest people ive met have been wiccan, and some of the biggest assholes ive met have been christian. that says nothing about either faith, just about those individuals practicing them.
PJ, everytime I start to see you as an infiltrator, you redeem yourself... I am glad. You often make me laugh, if at nothing more than myself. Thank you. Only good things to you.
You probably don't know a thing about the gosspels, but I believe what you've read somewhere was the fact that the CATHOLIC CHURCH took in many paganistic traditions, to get pagans in.
To give Phillyrp314 the benefit of the doubt, he is talking about the old testament, some stories in there are in certain ways similar to stories in some of the regional pagan religions of the period. The Gospels, however, are not related in anyway to religions or stories from pagan Europe. An interesting point that Philly brings up is the idea that somehow Christianity destroyed all evidence of ancient pagan religions. This claim is clearly prima facia fradulent. If Chrisitanity destroyed all evidence of ancient pagan religions and/or stories then we would not be talking about them. Furthermore, I would like to know how Philly has all of this knowledge of the ancient pagan stories if all evidence was destroyed hundreds of years ago? Am I being "anti-pagan" here? No, what I am asking is that everybody, pagan or otherwise, be held to he same standards of evidence, proof, logic, etcetra. . .
And we can no more prove the ancient pagan rituals than anyone here can show me scientific proof that Moses parted the Red Sea. The difference is that Pagans don't go around persecuting Christians, trying to "save" them, or killing, stealing and destroying in the name of Brigid or any other deity, as Christians have done in the name of the God of Abraham for the last 2000 years. Since you want to hold both sides of this dscussion to the same standards of evidence, that CAN be proven as a historical fact. It defies logic, however. Loving thy neighbor, not bearing false witness, Not coveting, etc. If you hold these commandments to be the true word of your god, then the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, and more than likely the current Gulf War need not have happened. It is the ambiguous nature of a bible told in parables that leaves Christian law open for interpretation by fanatics, zealots, and other unstable people (from Torquemada to David Koresh to Pat Robertson).
.................... !! wow. i don't even know what to say. that is the biggest load of crap website i've ever seen. i like how harry potter references show up at the end of the cartoon. is that site for real or is it a spoof? damn..
Oh, OK. Are you talking about the ones like the lice, grasshoppers, killing the baby sons curses? Why of coarse they're alike! Because they're TRUE and happened pagaan areas! I guess he knows about these stories being pagan, as well as Christian/Jewish/Muslim because he read about some ancient egyptian hyroglyphs (sp?) interpretations, you know, like in tombs in stuff?
