Well, the scented "deoderant" ones are I don't really like using regular pads because, well, they just feel kinda scratchy & uncomfortable against that extra-sensitive skin down there... But, cloth pads made with some soft fabric (like flannel) on the top layer are great!
i use tampons. trader joes has 'organic essentials' tampons which are the same price as tampax or playtex or whatever.. at least unbleached organic cotton is better than chemically-processed cotton. i don't like pads because i hate the feeling of blood oozing out of me, whether they're big clots or a constant dribble. especially when it's a long day of class, or when im running around doing errands, or when i'm trying to stretch and climb, it's distracting when you're dancing, or well... i guess anytime that i'm not on the toilet or in the shower. i also don't like the whole bulky-diaper feeling.
oh and as for smell i hear that women release more pheromones when they're menstruating, so they smell more attractive.
I don't know if it's conditioning, for I don't always think everything 'we' (as in most people) think smells bad, does indeed smell bad. Sweat can smell good, for example. And I don't think it's always nasty, only on hot days. I seriously doubt I'd care for the odor if I were to smell it in a blind test.
Usually tampons during the day and pads at night. Sometimes if its heavy I'll wear a thin pad and a tampon. But I like tampons better and they are definitly more comfortable then wearing a pad.
Tampons during the day. Pads during the night or if I don't know if I'll be able to get into a bathroom for a long time.
I use a Keeper. It feels better. It doesn't leak. I don't have to spend money, and I don't contribute to the depletion of resources needed to make those other things. Also, the rubber keeps the smell inside, so I feel much more confident.
what the ???? is a keeper??? I have found that tampons and pads have changed in the last few years...is it just me or are the materials they are made out of slightly more plasticy and synthetic?? The tampons I find nowadays just seem to block the flow wheras the pads act like kids nappies and suck it all up...and end up gel like.... tampons in the day and pads at night by the way...I hate worrying wether I am leaking, however I have experienced the slight paranoia of have I removed it or not before I put the next one in (which I have never done by the way). and in terms of the smell..I have never had anyone complain!!! :X
My periods are heavy, so I wear both, particularly at the beginning, then switch to just a pad towards the end.
pads are disgusting like walking arounf with all that shit between your legs annnd uncomfortable but i cant use tampons like i can only get it 1/2 way in and it just wont go any further and it hurts
I use pads. There's pros to it, and cons. But my body didn't react too well when I used tampons. I had severe migranes, dizziness, and just plain felt sick. When I quit using them, the symptoms went away. Perhaps it was an allergic reaction, I don't know. My body is very sensitive. Peace.
Oh isn't that the truth? You hit it right on the mark. I completely know the feeling. I hate it. Sometimes I get panicked because I wonder if I'm hemorrhaging or something, KWIM? Peace.
www.keeper.com a suction cup effect seals the liquid into the cup. Its about an inch- inch and a half long and fits completely inside. You break the suction, pull it out, dump it, rinse if possible and reinsert. About $35 US
I use the Diva Cup, which is kinda like the Keeper, but made from silicone (?), I believe. Before that I used cloth pads.
