Now all the ladies know that, it wasnt Jims voice that made him famous...Isnt that what makes him the better performer?? He didnt have a great singing voice his BRAIN is what made him sexy..Anyone here know anything about THE BIRTH OF TRAGEDY ? Thats what made Jim Morrison the Lizard King..He was so much more than he made people believe..

In his solo career perhaps. But yeah, this is where it get's kind of silly to compare these two. Jim died at the top and Ozzy moved on. I think they both needed their bands to reach to fame though.
In what way do you mean that Morrison was much more than he made people believe?

Jim didnt need that band to be famous, he never needed the money anyway, he did it just to see how far he could go. He proved the Dionysian theories are correct. Thats why they called him Dionysus...

Well, I didn't knew this thread was about money, or even fame  (otherwise it was clearly the Ozz who 'won' :p)

Of course on a hippieforum Jim will always be favoured.
Although I'm not a fan of Ozzy's latter mediawhoring and most of his soloalbums I personally can't pick a favourite. Rather difficult comparison for the more sensible musiclover.

I can imagine people lost interest in Ozzy over the last decade :(. That's one advantage Jim has going for him, he can't ruin his reputation anymore :p

I love Ozzy... but as a member of Black Sabbath. Never got into his solo stuff. I also dislike Sabbath without Ozzy. The two go hand in hand in my opinion. Morrison on the other hand, I love his talent as a separate entity from The Doors. He was a fabulous writer/thinker.

So comparing the two, I'd say I appreciate Morrison's artistic talent more.

Although many say it's comparing apples and oranges... keep in mind that the two are/were both dark artists.

oh and p.s. - whoever it was who called Morrison a junkie. fail.

Yeah, Ozzy's great, but he really doesn't compare to Morrison in my opinion.

I personally cannot stand Ozzy Osbourne and I would prefer to listen to Black Sabbath without his voice destroying the music.Jim Morrison wins for sure.
