Reagan's Polyp Probably one of the closest resemlances to Zappa out there. http://www.trashfish.com/polyp/ I was also trying to look for The Big Machine by Dr. Bizarro and The Disgustoids. No Success yet. http://www.chicagolocalbands.com/bandpages/drbizarro.shtml
I'm glad you like them. Really glad! You must have good tastes. Check out Kill Sadie and Waxwing if you like the blood brothers..
quote: Hi Seamonster - I thought I was the only person who listened to The Fall - awesome band aren't they? I have never come across anyone who listens to them before Hello......I like the Fall a lot, and I've noticed more and more younger people getting into them. there are several bands here that have a noticeable Fall sound.
for weird stuff check out: estradasphere - jazz and metal mixed with eastern melodies john zorn - experimental, postmodern jazz, jazz-metal sun ra - free jazz
http://www.visi.com/fall/ So far, I found The Fall's official site but no audio streams or downloads.
Gwar, you got to love evil space worrors trying to take over the planet with music throbbing gristle, they made a song out of the death threats they gone on their phone
I've also noticed new stuff coming out that sounds like them - I live in South Africa and when I mention them to people they look at me like I'm a bit nuts - nobody here seems to listen to them.
Check out the band Ozric Tentacles sometime if you get the chance. They are from England. Most of their music is instrumental with the exception of the occasional weird word or vocal sound added in a few places. Their style is almost indescribable. The best I could do to describe them is psychodelicacidjazzrock. Good hippie music. Any reputable music store should carry their cd's and look in the indy music stores as well, since they seem to carry some unusual stuff. Enjoy. Peace.
Anyone hear of Alison Goldfrapp? Don't know a whole lot about the artist musicaly but, so far, an amazing and bizarre Flash enhanced website. http://www.goldfrapp.co.uk/goldfrapp.html#Scene_1 Update of this post: Found some streaming audio and video though it requires some digging around. I'd call this Madonna on acid. Peace.
