If you could take your brain out of your head and set it down on the table,you would be looking at your brain.You could even touch it gently,as the brain is insensitive to touch.Furthermore,your mind,which is inside your brain,would still have the experience that it is looking at your brain from inside your head,but your brain is not inside your head,it is on the table.

Farfetched hypothetical, you could do it with perhaps a part of your brain but if you removed the visual cortex, I'm not sure how you would go about looking at your brain on the table.
This reminds me the time we was tripping on the ethane. I watched this comical cartoon like scene with my brain being put on a stretcher by little hospital guys and carried out in an old fashioned ambulance.
why not just cut someone's head open under general anesthesia and show them with a mirror or a video camera? they could even reach up and pet it.
