Went to the Aerosmith/ZZ Top concert at Fiddler's Green Saturday night. Going in, there was a woman, mid-20's, barefoot, in-line to enter. I admired her confidence going barefoot to the concert. Then, just as we reached the entrance, she reached into her purse and pulled out the most minimal sandals and slipped them on. I lost track of her after that, but I doubt they stayed on long.

After the show, I saw a middle-age woman walking out barefoot.

FYI - I've gotta mention this. On the way in, there was an older woman (50's, 60's?), with a well-endowed bust, wearing a tight black leather halter top. The top had zippers over the nipples to expose/conceal them. She was proudly walking through the crowd with the zippers open!!

Yesterday I was walking down the street and saw one of the neighbor's 17-18 year-old daughter hopping in her car barefoot to drive a friend home.

I used to go to Grateful Dead shows barefoot. Used to roam the halls during the show and mostly everyone was barefoot.

I can just lay on the grass and look at cute feet all night at a outdoor concert...

And what if she were to get really drunk one night, and someone unzipped and ran away with the caps while she were helpless to stop them. That'd be an embarrassing journey home. :)

There's a concert/fair type of thing going on in my town. I was on my way to work last night, and a younger couple had just crossed the street near the fair. (They were holding hands, so I assume they're "involved".) The lady actually stopped her boyfriend so she could take her shoes off. I'm guessing they had to walk for a bit, since there weren't any parking areas nearby.

I thought that was pretty neat - I don't see that around here much at all. Maybe she's a regular barefooter or maybe she's not, but to me it doesn't matter. She took the time to enjoy being barefoot.

I was on my way from taking a [barefoot] walk in a local park and driving to the farmers' market, and happened to see two guys and two young boys with them (their sons?) coming from the housing tract across the street from the park. Both of the guys had no shirts and one of them wore flip-flops, but the other guy was barefoot. The boys who were with them were barefoot, too.:hurray:

I went shopping in the local Asda (Walmart) today, and as i entered a barefoot woman of about 30 was leaving. Her soles were well blackened, so she must have been bf all day.
    Hope it catches on!

    Today's barefoot-spotting count (apart from me): 2
one couple, neo-hippie style, the woman carrying a guitar
slung over her shoulder, both appearing to be in their early
    twenties.
    Bad luck for me:
I only spotted them out of the tram window, passing them...
so, no way for them to spot my bare tootsies or to interact
    directly or talk to them.

Other than that, no further spottings.

Anyway, it proves at last that there are more barefooters
in this town than just myself.

wiggling toes, hopeful to meet and really interact with
    other barefooters face-to-face and toe-to-toe,

Saw a guy barefoot in HobbyCraft in Reading today. Early 30s at a guess. Didn't look like he was even concerned with his lack of footwear - certainly didn't act any differently from anyone else in there.

I saw him walk in from the car park (must have been driving barefoot too) pick up some stuff and head to the checkout queue with everyone else.

    All very cool.

We used to live in Denver in the mid / late 80's for a few years. I remember seeing 2 barefoot children at the Greeley fair walking around with dirty feet. The best was at that same fair, when I was about 12, there were 2 cute barefoot teen/preteen age girls running across to the bathroom together. I couldn't believe it- they were going to traipse around in that filthy fair bathroom totally barefoot! I was so immature that I didn't know about my fetish. I just knew it blew me away.

I also saw several older teens at the mall in Denver shopping barefoot, along with a few kids. So all in all, Denver seemed like a barefoot friendly place... in the 80's.

My wife and I went out to dinner last night at a local Mexican restaurant. Across from us there were two couples. The guy wore his Birkenstocks in, sat down, kicked 'em off, and was barefoot the rest of the evening. I wasn't in a position to see if others did the same.

That's pretty typical of my wife and me as well. We wear our flip-flops into a restaurant, sit down, and they immediately come off. It's one of those stupid games with going barefoot - put on the sandals to walk the short distance from the front door to be seated, and then be barefoot the rest of the time. It's just a game - a stupid game, but a game nonetheless.

Andy Griffith began his acting career starring in The Lost Colony. (For those who have never been to the Outer Banks, The Lost Colony is a classic outdoor drama, summer only.) He was quoted as saying that Manteo was the first place he had ever lived where there was no need to wear shoes at any time, anywhere. He loved it.

The situation isn't quite as good now, but it isn't bad, by American standards. Andy Griffith still lives there.

Only two young men seen really barefoot (i.e. no footwear in sight and not lying on the grass in a park) in London so far this summer. One sitting for a while on the steps of St Martin-in-the-Fields before strolling down towards the Strand and the other walking along Oxford Street. Loads of flip-flops though. Does the flip-flop fashion discourage real barefooting?
